Hulk Hogan (early 80's)

Hulk Hogan became a household name while working for the WWF in the mid-80's, but prior to his run as Vince McMahon's top babyface, Hogan wrestled for NJPW and the AWA in the early 80's.

He started off his AWA career as a villain, fresh off his appearance in Rocky III as Thunderlips. He quickly became a babyface and feuded with Bobby Heenan and Nick Bockwinkel.

In Japan, Hogan won the IWGP tournament and held a precursor to the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
