Where to start
In this section we will cover the first general things.

THIS GUIDE IS NOT COMPLETE. i have made an old out of date guide here however it is for an old version and as such you will need to read it then check out what is new section here.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2344635440

Starting out if you are like me and lost all progress from one beta to another i recommend using something like cheat engine to give yourself a lot of cash. you worked hard right? get it back.
That being said even if you get your money back you will NOT be getting weapons, gear, or unlock weapons like you did before. so all the money in the world wil not get all your stuff back.

This game is very immersive and as such you need to pay attention to detail and think ahead or you will be in deep ♥♥♥♥ really quick.

First piece of advice for the new people, ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan QUICK. this is not a FPS where you can hit the reload button and run while reloading. to reload you have to press the ejection button or grab the magazine, either drop it or put it in your pocket so you do not lose it, grab a new mag and put it in then pull the slide. no pressure..... just you know, hard to do that quick when enemies are approaching quick or shooting at you. so be sure to refill magizines and keep full ones on your belt when you are not in combat. NOTHING is worse then having no magazines filled and another enemy appears.

Second wonderful piece of advice is lightning strikes. you will hear them and when you hear them it means an enemy spawned. so if you are scavenging and hear it be aware that the enemy you killed is back

You will notice in the game that the tutorial is split up. once you get level 1 clearance you get a tutorial on some weapon stuff and after you get level 2 clearance you get to learn about armor and attachments for guns. and so on.

what is new?
  • First as mentioned above the first thing you will notice between the betas is in the newer version you will need to rank up to get better guns or equipment. so no more grinding for money to get high end gear early on.
  • Second the map is now divided into quite a few parts. they are much smaller than the first map and each piece has 2 safe houses you can sleep.
  • Third no more sleeping anywhere. while outside you will need to go to a safe house to sleep.
  • Fourth: beware the tide. the tide will eat you up if you are caught BUT NOT KILL YOU. instead it will spawn you in a random place in the map area, respawn enemies, and respawn loot. it will all be random.
  • Fifth is money. you no longer gather fragments from enemies to sell or use in missions to get money. used to be you could grind so easily to get so much but i digress. so killing stuff is no longer a cash cow
  • silencers break.
  • game is not harder. a lot harder. more enimies, seems like guns do less damage. stealth is becoming a much better method than just going for it.
Loot
loot has changed a whole lot. i will get more detailed into it later but it seems that all over the world are samples, trap cameras, weather monitors and other loot that you can sell. for now i just colelct them in case i need them but will likely sell later.

will update this section later this week.
Weapons
all right i am NOT going to talk about all the weapons as there are a lot and everyone is different. use the shooting range to try out new stuff fam after getting to level 1 you can go there and try some stuff out.

FIRST and most important is the OC-33 which is a BEAST of a weapon.
The OC-33 is a simi-auto/full auto pistol that can hold 30 rounds. so unlike your pea shooter in the start you have to reload a whole lot less. to get the most out of this weapon you MUST get to level 2 clearance and have a lot of cash. you need to UPGRADE it BEFORE you try to attach a pistol site, a laser, and a silencer. once you have all that you are golden for anything now you can switch out the laser for a light BUT you should have already gotten a headlight (only like 400) so why get a light for the pistol too?

Some great advice with weapons is to keep full clips on your belt and empty clips in the pocket. that way you do not grab an empty mag by mistake while in deep ♥♥♥♥. combat comes quick so be sure to have full mag whenever outside of combat.

Now 2 enemies do not really require you to shoot them as stated in the enemy section as well. the first is the ghost fragment (the transparent one) and spider. however until you have a bayonet i would shoot the spider too.

since the last update weapon cleaning has gotten a bit weird. carry WD-40, a toothbrush, toilet paper, and a rod with you on long missions so you can clean everything. the tutorial should have taught you how to clean weapons but funny enough it does NOT teach you how to clean magazines so i repair them as needed. apparently they also get damaged and will cause your weapon to jam. remember, a weapon that is not in the blue will jam from time to time and that can really hurt you in combat.

you can carry any primary weapon on your back and one on the left side of your backpack as well as one in each hand if you so choose so you can technically carry 4 primary weapons. but only 2 if you want to have your hands free. you can find some primary weapons in the orange or silver boxes with green lights that are in some buildings ( some buildings are not on the map BTW) or you can buy primary weapons.

your first purchase should be the headlamp. lets be real it is a light on your head and that is so much better than having only one hand.
your second purchase should be the best pistol in the game. that is the OC-33 'Pernach'
why get it?
  • holds around 30 rounds compared to other pistols that hold 8
  • accuracy is crazy good to the point you might as well snipe enemies if you are good at aiming.
  • with the red dot scope and laser you can hit even the furthest of enemies with ease.

personally i carry a whole ammo container as it is better than boxes for long missions. just make sure you have plenty in it before hand. you will go through more ammo than you think when you are out there.

i should also mention their are 4 types of ammo. they are easy to understand. the first is regular ammo. the second is armor piercing ammo that deals more damage to armored enmies but less to other enemies as well as louder. the third is subsonic ammo that reduces the noise making it harder to be spotted and is not as strong as regular rounds. and last is AP+ which has all the benefits of AP rounds and subsonic rounds but is the most expensive. very self explanatory. chose based on how you play and what you are hunting.

Anomalies
The most common thing that can hurt you is the anomalies

First is the Distortion. only the gas vent in the center can be seen unless you throw a probe into it then it becomes clear as day. avoid them, being inside causes you to lose health crazy fast. i always throw probes in front of me whenever moving to detect these and other anomalies.
(note: none of the pics i took of the gas vent showed it very well. this is a pic of an entity disturbed by a probe)

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109620538305/68B6A5A71DE6C99BB01F33FFD39F4AC6DB59BBA8/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

Second is Reflector. very obvious and easy to spot. they look like the distortion but always viable and making noize and pulsating. if you get inside them they will hurt you and push you out quickly. DO NOT THROW A PROBE INTO THEM. be careful as anything you throw into them they will throw out much quicker and hurt you. so no shooting or throwing stuff into them.

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109620490961/5A87B3B95724944AD74710CB2AB5EA93459242F7/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

Third is..... well i do not have a name for it nor do i remember the name of it. it sets off your detector you use for finding entities and is very dark. looks like a broken mimic and emmits a electric shock noise when near it. it does not attack but shooting it does destroy it and it drops a blue ingot of some sort needed for some missions. NGL i do not have the balls to go touch it so shoot it and move on.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109619264010/53758DA10548198DD34A369028751A5C72BC0F41/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

Fourth is Haze. look it is a big green cloud that hurts you when inside it. it follows a pattern and can move through buildings so just do not go near it and get out of it's way. the gas mask makes you immune to this entity.

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109620492427/913740B28BD45137AAB05563039BCC9C824A3E43/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

fifth Web. the MOST annoying one. Webs are mostly found in forest areas. they are large dark strands hovering about knee height to a few feet above your head just sitting there. walking though it will cause a lot of damage quickly and will keep damaging you for a bit of time after leaving it. i have found that looking at it with a flash light sometimes stops it from hurting you if you are being harmed and are already outside of it. just keep your eyes open and go around it.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109619272260/BCF1998E547D4AAEC6A87F8D112DB1A200FFCFF6/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

sixth Grass. some dark grass that when you step on it you get hurt. shine your light on it and it subsides for a bit. easy.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109619274604/7083A33D6AC91969C7753EC29F4423B89DAF6270/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

seventh is shock. you can hear them but not see them by their electric noises. using a probe near them will zap the probe making it clear you should not go that way. it will hurt you. it is important to remember by throwing a probe it discharges and takes a few seconds to discharge again. in that time you can run past but we all know going around is better if you can.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109620499870/F5093D133CEDBB4B4243A130DE9AE6DBAC009CC9/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

eighth is Stomper. you will see the dust kicked up and clearly hear them but not see them. YOU CAN GET SQUASHED. it is instant death too. so do not get in their way. they have a patrol rout just like the haze which can go over walls.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109620508432/9A556F3EAD9D56250DB1F8C61BD9FE4ED3E84AE5/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

Species (enimies)
First we have Fragments. these are the most common enemies you will encounter. you will hear kind of a shriek when they see you and they will slowly walk towards you. the first kind looks like a very transparent ghost and does not have much health. norally takes 1 or 2 stabs and or shots to kill.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109620522090/122DE98300BFB05664DA6D49576601F66993E930/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false
the second type of fragment is more opaque and shooting or stabbing it will put it in a metaphysical state where if you stab or shoot the core it will die. it takes more ammo to kill it than the first one
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109620526063/8386224903AFE218BB035268678AA5DB9E07BB41/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109620527447/4A97CF7FD9469E13BB075028F6A00C11D5FF1DA6/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

Second is Spawn. these spider like creatures run along the ground and jump at you. like the fragment they too have a sound cue whenever they spot you so keep your ears open. the best way i have found to deal with them is to run perpendicular to them (not towards or away from them) until they jump and when they land they will be stunned for a good 3 seconds which is enough time to shoot or stab them. one hit and they are dead so i choose stabbing. DO NOT try to run as they will always outrun you.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109619220903/D5B2DB7380864BA94390ECED0C0153F9DEB65733/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

Third is Mimic. these annoying ♥♥♥♥♥ like buildings and will shoot you on sight. they look like the dead army guys you see laying around. all black and move about as fast as you. will crouch or stop to shoot though. no audio cue needed as you will see and hear the bullets. best tactic is to keep distance and have good aim. get too close and they can easily shoot you but far away and their aim is kind of bad. a laser on your pistol and sight helps you hit them from far away so i recommend getting those early game so you can deal with them. from what i have seen they have a few passive audio ques such as singing "hush little baby" and saying "where are you?" both creepy. these enemies peruse you but you can easily escape by running until they lose site of you. there are two types. the first are regular who shoot you from far away. and the second tries to rush you and punch you to death. the later has a read glow behind his head as shown in the pic. they also come armored (orange armor around them) which can make them tough.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/ugc/1857185109619230495/D0E575C537307634113ED3F8967A9951B7524B69/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

***AS OF RIGHT NOW I HAVE NOT VENTURED TOO FAR AND HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OTHER. I WILL UPDATE AS I GO**
Clarity
this just includes a few things that i ran into that were not very clear when i played. so keep this stuff in mind.

WD40 and a toothbrush will NEVER fully fix a weapon. it will get it up to blue and then you need to use the toilet paper and rod to finish it.

you do not go into dressing mode ( tapping the magnifier glass on your wrist) to put on the headlamp. dressing mode is for armor, helmet, and gas masks only. you CAN put on a helmit and headlamp at the same time. so yay!

in order to put MOST attachments on weapons you NEED to upgrade it in the upgrade machine at home base. also you can see the type of attachments it will currently take by inspecting the weapon (for HTC vive you hold up on the D pad) and look at the window that appears next to the gun. left side will list any rails you can attach stuff to. attachments in the shop list what rail they attach to so easy as looking in teh store for what will work.
PRO TIPS
1) bring WD40 and a toothbrush with you any mission that is not short. guns get rusted and cleaning them will prevent jamming.

2) ammo does not weigh much. pack more than you need.

3) use quiet weapons when you can as being loud lets them all know where you are and they will attack you all at once.

4) headlamp is the best thing ever.

5) you can take multiple missions at the same time. so do it.
What i want to see
this is just a few things i want the devs to improve. it is a wonderful game but needs a few things

1) a radio. come on man fallout vibes? a radio so we are not lonely

2) multiplayer! i know 100,000 people said it but lets be real, so much better if with friend. we get lonely

3) bigger backpack. no i do not mean carry more, i mean BIGGER. like 2X bigger so we can easily organize the bag. it is so hard to organize.

4) more snap locations on body. like 3 but better. maybe put all the ammo pouches a bit higher above the secondary weapon, allow us to put 2 or 3 more items on the chest, maybe even knees if you want. just let us be able to get to dearly needed items faster.

@pyrofox precisely. I WANT THAT RADIO!
PyroFox  [author] 24 Sep, 2022 @ 11:29am
@jackomg..... then turn off the radio....
Jackomg 24 Sep, 2022 @ 8:25am
That doesn't make any sense [2]. You can literally turn on/off your radio in Fallout, should be the same here.
And if I'm going home in my car listening to the radio and 3 people decide to stop me, point guns at my head and beat me up whilst playing Men At Work doesn't make it any f'ing better or worse.
charlie 5 Sep, 2022 @ 6:25am
that doesnt make any sense, if the concern was "atmosphere" then simply not bringing the radio with you is the solution here. if fallout let me listen to romantic showtunes while committing genocide on men and women then ITR should let me listen to the same while i cower in fear from species. +1 for radio.
itagamineko 30 Jun, 2022 @ 6:36am
the problem with radios in games like this is, It completely ruins the atmosphere built upon.
for example if you encounter a bunch of enemies with jolly fallout music it won't be the same as if you didnt have any music.

So the only way i could see a radio coming into the game would be in the safehouse. That would be a cool idea but it wouldn't be good for the atmosphere if you were able to have a portable radio with you.
DeepFriedLimes 28 Jun, 2022 @ 2:16am
You said it brother, I would sing the fallout radio songs to myself as I traveled. If they do something similar to having the cassette tapes for music I would actually enjoy that a lot.
Arbiter 13 Jun, 2022 @ 1:40am
I'd also like to see the pen added back. Made it more immersive to be able to make personal notes on the map.
