Description
The C-12 'Dragonfly' Light Freighter is a low-cost ultralight interplanetary ship that can be built using material processed using a basic refinery and basic assembler. An integrated projector makes drydock repairs easy. Propulsion is provided by hydrogen thrusters that are supplied by an O2/H2 generator and 1 large hydrogen tank, and four small atmospheric thrusters are included to provide extra lift for operation on planets that have an atmosphere. Designed for evading hostile NPCs, acceleration is very quick, even when fully loaded.

ENTIRELY VANILLA; NO MODS; NO DLC; PROJECTOR BUILDABLE IN SURVIVAL!

NOTES FOR BUILDING WITH A PROJECTOR IN SURVIVAL
1. Build a small-grid projector on a rotor frame configured with a small-grid rotor head that's located on a powered grid (you may need to put two or three armor block spacers between the small rotor head and projector to provide vertical clearance).
2. Load the blueprint into the projector; click on the setting to retain the blueprint after construction is complete.
3. Build the blueprint.
4. When completed, grind away the rotor frame, armor blocks, and small-grid rotor head, leaving the projector in place so future repairs can be easily made.

REQUIRED PARTS FOR BUILDING IN SURVIVAL
  - 663 Steel Plates
  - 176 Metal Grids
  - 175 Interior Plates
  - 864 Construction Components
  - 127 Motors
  - 134 Large Steel Tubes
  - 61 Small Steel Tubes
  - 72 Computers
  - 10 Displays
  - 42 Bulletproof Glass
  - 22 Power Cells
  - 4 Radio-Communication Components

OPTIMAL ASCENT FROM A PLANET WHEN HEAVILY LOADED
The second {Ctrl}-{2} menu is optimized for ascent from a planet when heavily loaded.
1. With all thrusters off, repeatedly tap both {5} and {8} until the atmospheric thrusters and hydrogen thrusters are at maximum thruster override.
2. Tap {6} and {9} to turn on the atmospheric and hydrogen thrusters, then immediately tap {1} and/or {3} to unlock the landing gear and/or connector; the ship should start accelerating upward.)
3. When maximum upward speed is achieved, tap {7} until the ship's speed starts to slow; you want the ship to keep accelerating upward as close to maximum speed as possible. (If you are ascending at maximum gross mass, you will not quite reach 100 m/s and actually start to slow down; be patient as the ship continues to ascend and gravity starts to fall, because the ship will soon start to accelerate upward again.)
4. When thrust override for the atmospheric thrusters changes to "0N", repeated tap {4} to reduce atmospheric thruster override until it reads "disabled", then tap {6} to turn off the atmospheric thrusters (although they can be left on in space).
5. When maximum upward speed is achieved, tap {7} to reduce thruster override for the hydrogen thrusters; continue tapping {7} until the upward speed starts to drop. As gravity diminishes, tap [7} to reduce thrust and conserve hydrogen gas.
6. When finally out of the planet's gravity well, tap {7} to disable thrust override for the hydrogen thrusters; the ship will quickly come to a stop.
7. Now go wherever you want to go.

FINAL NOTES - WHY I CREATED THIS SHIP
I was early into playing a recent survival game with lots of different hostile NPCs...Corruption PvE, Reavers, Orks, etc., when I was attacked by a Corruption Salvage drone while grabbing parts from a SPRT wreck I'd just found. The Salvage drones are pretty easy to overcome with a hand grinder, so after knocking out the ship grinders (that are trying to cut out my heart!), I killed the remote control that's right there at front-center. This particular ship is simply two ship grinders, each with a medium cargo container and connector; and it has two batteries for power! But I wanted more cargo space because of all the loot I'd found, and the two cargo containers aren't interconnected, so I gutted the inside and crammed a medium cargo container in front, followed by a large cargo container. It worked marginally, but was very slow to accelerate, even after I added more small hydrogen and ion thrusters. And, ultimately, I needed a planetary-capable ship so I could colonize a planet. When I finally found an asteroid with a hole where I could hunker down, I tore everything apart and started over. The Dragonfly is the result using far less parts and with greater capacity, especially for travel to/from planets. It's small, it requires relatively few parts to build, and it has a 95-ton payload capacity. What more could I ask?
