The Battle of Quito (octuber 12, 2019)

It´s octuber 12 on 2019. This day is the conmemoration of the Indigenous resistence and the bloodiest day of the "Zanganos" revolution in Ecuador. The Riots started after the announcement of the presidential decree #883 on octuber 1. That was a decree that increased the prices of fossil fuels removing the subsidies. The riots officially started on octuber 3 whith clashes against the police in Cuenca and Quito. The dollowing days were alredy violent clashes, looting, injuries and arrest troughot the contry. For the battle of Quito (octuber 12) the police and the armed forces had alredy murderer at least 11 people and wounded thousands. There the police and the army clashed agaist the citizen made by mongrels and indigenous of all the contry. That was the culmination of the riots, leaving the city like a battlefield. The next day the goverent removed the decree #883 for a dialogue with the CONAIE. This stage is a tribute to the people and victims who fought in the riots that I was also a participant.

Es 12 de octubre de 2019. Día de resistencia indígena y uno de los días más sangrientos de la Revolución de los Zánganos. Estos disturbios a nivel nacional iniciaron luego de un anuncio del decreto presidencial Nro. 883. Tratándose de un paquetaso de combustibles el 1 de octubre. El 3 de octubre iniciaron oficialmente los enfrentamientos contra la policía en Cuenca y Quito. Los siguientes días ya había enfrentamientos, saqueos, heridos y detenidos por todo el país. Para la batalla de Quito, el 12 de octubre, la policía habría asesinado al menos a 11 personas y herido a miles. Se enfrentaron ahí las Fuerzas Armadas Ecuatorianas junto con la Policía Nacional al pueblo compuesto por ciudadanos mestizos e indígenas llegados de todo el país. Este día sería el culmen de las protestas, dejando al centro de la ciudad de Quito como un autentico campo de batalla y ocasionando que el gobierno desista de su decreto de subida de los precios de los combustibles al día siguiente en un dialogo con la CONAIE. Este escenario es un homenaje a todas las personas y victimas que lucharon en las manifestaciones de las que también fui participe.
