BACKGROUND -----------------------------------------------------------------

Zeke-Class support destroyer - hull revision M - GOM asset security configuration

The Zeke-Class destroyer is a medium subcapital design originally released by Gau Space Dynamics as part of its naval linup.

Highly modular, Zekes can be configured in various ways with bolt-on weapons and thruster arrangements depending on role. The vessel's internal hangar is designed with ground-based operations in mind and is spacious enough to support a wide variety of vehicles and fighters.

This particular example is the Calico (B-08) in service with the GOM Mining Corperation security fleet, patrolling extraction sites and escorting mass carriers and other company fleetships in and out of wildspace.

As a corporate ship the Calico is restricted from using explicitly military-grade weapons. Nonetheless, the ship is armed to the teeth: a variety of aftermarket cannons and beams have been installed to deter most attackers, and the Calico usually carries two Y-45P Talon Snubfighters in the main hangar rafter mounts. Complimenting the energy weapons, the Calico carries industrial demolition torpedos stocked in the ship's main cargo hold. These powerful weapons skirt legality and require upper-level authorisation to wield. The Calico's last use was against a particularly large and aggressive golimoth that had attacked a dredging rig.

This modularity has also allowed for the addition of a pair of enormous GU-90 outboard nacelles replacing the Calicos stock lightcruise engines, with some additional revisions along the ships ventral comms tower to improve turret convergence.

The Calico carries a crew compliment of around 30, with provisions for additional personnel if needed.

Mostly finished, might as well get this one out there

There are a few spots that are maybe less finished than I'd like them to be, time permitting I'll update. Ship systems should work properly but I'd like to add more control options so you won't need to f5 through the ship to close a door

Currently the turrets work fine but linked to their own controllers, I will need to manually link them up with the main logic bay.

Features:

Big 4-door hangar (port, starboard, forward and belly), fitted for large ground vehicles
Working grav lift in main hangar
Crew lift
multiple working crane systems
interlinked cargo holds
docking arm
ventral shuttlebay
escape pod bays (might need to work on these)
torpedo launchers (static for now)

Compatible with the T9 Lifeboat: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2808605249
and the Y-45P Talon Snubfighter: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/workshop/filedetails/?id=2806204755

-----------------------------------------------------------------

WARNING: Performance Heavy! You may need to wait a few seconds after entering a helm depending on your setup before starting any timers so as not to break any mechanisms.

In the future, real space ships should look like this.

There is a dorsal landing pad near the tower, if you go to the bridge you can activate the demo and you can see the sneaky dorsal pad. Don't recommend using for anything else but the new PT-22M shuttle

What is the landing pad? Also amazing build.

Haven't figured out a functional way to do it just yet, for now they are just for show

Thank you, I'm very happy you enjoy the ship! I can't confirm nor deny simulation theory but I'll do what I can to future-proof builds

Just realized that the Zeke has a hangar, so yeah, it would have been on for young and old! Given that this ship is a support ship, a battle between these two ships would never happen, Nonetheless, this support destroyer almost took out a flagship. That's saying something.

Holy hell! I just fought this ship with my "CMS Battlestar Mk 2". Which has 32 large beams, and 32 large gatling lasers, and 36 mil shields. and 209k hull. Every other ship pretty much melts against this. However, the Zeke, destroyed about 20% of my ship before, after a 20 minute battle, I took it down. This ship is TANKY! To be honest, my ship is a carrier / battleship, so you would normally be up against a destroyer and 2 heavy fighters, but truth be told. It was close! You broke my shields multiple times and took out a lot of my guns. Dude, love the Zeke. Its meticulously designed as are all your ships and it packs a real punch. - pretty much decimated every other of my ships, even my salamander, which I thought was pretty strong with its 8 massive beams. The Zeke is a fucking TANK! Love it bro. Hope you keep building!
