Description
Description
Modifies the vanilla Transfer Manager to prefer closer transfers. ie Garbage trucks will go to nearby buildings first to collect garbage rather than travelling all the way across the city to get the garbage at some distant building.



Main Features
  • Improved matching algorithms
  • Allows low level control over a buildings transfers based on district, building and distance restrictions
  • Improved Import / Export controls including import restrictions, export vehicle limits and outside connection distance multipliers so one connection or connection type can be preferred over another.
  • Improved goods delivery options including factory first and warehouse first along with many other options allows you to organise your deliveries just how you want them
  • Supports using path matching to improve matches when your geography or network is complex.
  • Multi-threaded for better in-game performance.
  • Generic industry, DLC industry and commercial buildings can now re-request IN material when they have no material in storage and the responding truck(s) are still a long way away.
  • Vehicle AI - Enhances service vehicles to look for close by issues to resolve, so for example if a garbage truck is out at a building collecting garbage and another building next door also has garbage it will pick that up as well. (Service vehicle AI supported: FireTruckAI, FireCopterAI, GarbageTruckAI, PoliceCarAI and PoliceCopterAI)
Improved Matching Algorithms
This mod features 4 matching algorithms that have been carefully crafted for each transfer reason:
  • Match Incoming First
  • Match Outgoing First
  • Balanced (most similar to vanilla)
  • Priority only
By carefully selecting the right match mode for each transfer type this mod is able to produce much better matching results.

Background
The original idea for this mod was by pcfantasy and his More Effective Transfer Manager

Unfortunately he stopped working on it so another developer Cambrium started a new version, More Effective Transfer Manager (continued). Sadly after doing lots of great things with the mod he decided to introduce some malicious code into the mod and was booted off the workshop along with his mod. Discussion

This left lots of subscribers in the lurch as they could no longer use what had become quite a nice mod. I was asked if I would be willing to reboot this mod so that people could continue to play the game with its features. This is the result.



Incompatible Mods

Note: While Advanced Outside Connection is currently listed as compatible with this mod, we have found that the mod tends to produce double offers for outside connections when altering the ratio values that may cause issues with your game such as overwhelmed outside connections.

Enhancements
  • Transfer Restrictions - Split outside connection priority into cargo and citizen options
  • Outside Panel - Added "In / Out" column to panel.
  • Building Panel - Split stops out to separate tab to reduce need to scroll.
  • Transfer Restrictions - Added separate settings for cargo warehouse train and road connections. Click cargo warehouse to toggle between buildings.
  • Settings tab - Added light colored panel behind outside connection settings.
  • Capacity tab - Added light backing panel to match settings panel.
  • Building Panel - Clicking same building will cycle through sub buildings.
  • Outside Selection Panel - Added direction to the checkbox labels.
Design changes
  • Added transport type to the name when not Road.
  • Transfer Restrictions - Now apply a response curve to outside connection priority to make the slider have linear strength
  • Building panel - Show global in slider label rather than as separate label.

I'm unsure if what i'm experiencing is some of what is discussed below.
I'm seeing my newly build warehouse 'magicly' getting filed with goods without any trucks arriving with goods. (its a small warehouse)
Is this part of the mod?
Can i turn it off?

I am not sure which asset you are testing some Warehouse or CargoTrainWarehouse?

For CargoTrainWarehouse you need 2 rail connections to function it can be Outside Connection or other CargoTrainWarehouse or CargoTrainStation

CargoTrainWarehouse has 2 buidlings (its unique by design) Cargo Train Station as one, and Warehouse as another one, so both can request things and both function slightly different

It can be district mis-match which cause it to not match or deliver to CTW (Cargo Train Warehouse)

One more tip. You can ponder upon why two terminals rather than one, and replacing the distant one with a bunch of production buildings works the same.

Does the demo not show otherwise? You should first prove to yourself that it works, then apply or not apply settings to figure what makes it not work.

Based on my testing, two Cargo Train Stations on the same rail line can transfer goods to each other, and two Rail-Connected Warehouses can also exchange goods directly. However, direct transfers between Cargo Train Stations and Rail-Connected Warehouses don't work. When the mod is disabled, transportation returns to normal.
What specific settings need to be enabled to make direct transfers between Cargo Train Stations and Rail-Connected Warehouses possible?

The core question I am seeking confirmation on is: Can a Cargo Train Station transfer goods directly to a Rail-Connected Warehouse without requiring road-based transport for the final delivery?
I would like to ask if this specific logistics model has been tested. If it hasn't, would it be possible for you to verify this behavior? It should be a relatively quick check to perform. If this direct connection isn't currently supported, please consider adding this functionality in a future update. I believe it would be a valuable improvement to the mod's capabilities.
To help with your investigation, please let me know what specific information you need from my end. I am ready to provide save files, screenshots, or detailed logs to assist in diagnosing this behavior.

I changed the Delay in multiple Step´s down to 0.... no significant Change. I tried several other Changes like "Heuristic-Calculation" or Calculation by "Line-of-Sight" instead of Road-Network (my Default)... slightly increase of Traintbased Deliveries by 5%. I even tried to Change my Road-Layout to increase the Path-Length of my Road´s. ...No Change.
The only Solution i have left: is to restrict Truck-Traffic In and Out of Industrial-/Servicepoint-Districts.
(Just for explanation: I play on High Difficult with TMPE:Despawn off)
