Description
This pack includes both high-volume trash bin and high-volume recycling bin mods designed to look like trash chutes. This resemblence is merely cosmetic, as they still require a basement-level trash room and recycling room to function properly. However, because the capacity is high, they take quite a while to become full.

Unlike real trash chutes, they do not need to be stacked vertically (I wasn't sure if I could force stacking for this unit the same way you can for elevators).

Each trash or recycling chute must be placed separately. There is no way to create a single room in Project Highrise that will collect both trash and recycling.

If you subscribe to this mod, you should not subscribe to my trash chute only mod. The trash chute is the same in both. The only difference is that this mod also includes a recycling chute.

Each costs 40 to build and produces only minimal smell.

**Remember that after you subscribe to mods, you must enable them in the game. Mods are not automatically enabled in Project Highrise.**

Also don't forget to place multiple pickup points if neccesary. If a pickup point is at 100% before 17:00 (5 PM) when empty at the start of the day, you need more pickup points.

The reason the chutes are not emptied is because the max garbage/recycled capacity far exceeds what the vanilla garbage and recycle pickup points can handle. Not sure why they can't be emptied at like 10%, 20% orso, i think because of the percent calculation is different from the pickup points.
You can (easily) fix it though:

Go to mods folder in you Steam installation folder:
D:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\423580\2802389904
Open the file Definition.txt with Notepad(++)
- On line 10, change the value of capacity to 60:


type bin
item trash
capacity 60

- On line 57, change the value of capacity to 48

type bin
item trash
capacity 48

Those are the values the collector points can handle. It might also work if you double those amounts, so 120 and 96, since the 100% is then just a 2x multiplier but i have not tried that.
The 60 and 48 cap works for me.

Well, my trash chute is 100% full, the worker goes there as he shall, I can see the animation how he is emptying the chute and it remains 100% full. I observed it several times. No way :steamhappy:

I'm also having the same problem with most people but mine is the recycling, sadly. I left it for a few days and still the same issue although the main trash and recycling centers are available. Like TechniCat said, the only solution for now is to replace the chutes. I deliberated unsubbed the other cleaning mods but it didn't work for me either.

I am having a strange issue. The mod was working fine and then it just disappeared. No matter what I do (delete, unsubscribe/subscribe) it will not show up in the in-game mod menu. Anyone have any ideas about how to troubleshoot this?

I am having this issue on and off but I am not subbed to the other mod, it does not seem predictable at all but it is very annoying if you do not see it and someone moves out :<

I'm having the problem as well. My bins aren't emptying. I'm also subbed to the other Broom Closet mod. That being said, I've unsubbed the Broom Closet mod and the problem DID NOT fix itself. The only solution is deleting the Unhappy Trash/Recycling chute and replacing it. I don't know why this is happening, but sadly it is. I wish there was a way to fix it. It doesn't seem to be happening on every floor.

If I figure out what's causing it, I'll let everyone know.

Yup, same here. I do indeed have the Enhanced Broom Closet mod as well.

I am having the same issue. I have a feeling it may be conflicting with my only other trash mod which would be the Enhanced Broom Closet mod:
