WORKSHOP GUIDELINE
GENERAL
World of Mines Creator's Edition is completely open to users.
We believe that users will make this game better. That is why we encourage you to feel free to create anything you want. However, there might be some contents which possibly make other users uncomfortable. We do not want to face and see any problems or issues in the community. Thus, if you think it could be the inappropriate and controversial contents, please do not upload and share with the community.
The following is NOT allowed to upload :

  • Content that causes a matter of political dispute
  • Content that makes use of other people's work without permission
  • Content that takes an aversion to other users
  • Content that is considered as inappropriate
  • Content that contains copyrighted resource which you do not own or have permission to use
  • Content that is not complete work

Moreover, we reserve the right to take down any contents by its sole discretion. Based on this right, the content that is judged as inappropriate will be removed.
To prevent any kinds of problems in relation to User Generated Content in the community, we also recommend you to follow the Steam Subscriber Agreement , Steam Online Conduct , and Rules and Guideline for User Generated Content .
TUTORIAL
Create your own maps :
  1. In the world map, click "Editor" icon on the left-bottom side to launch the Editor.




  2. In the Editor, click "Exit" icon on the right-top side or hit "ESC" key if you wish to go back to the world map.




  3. In the Editor, scroll your mouse wheel up or down to zoom in or out the background grids.




  4. On the "Template Image" in the Editor, import the image what you wish to use as a template.
    • Click "Load Image" to browse and select the image in your local drive.




    • Click "Move Image" to move your template image.




    • Click "+" or "-" to resize your template image.




    • Click "+" or "-" to adjust transparency of your template image on the background grids.




    • Click "Delete Image" if you want to delete your template image.




  5. On the background grids in the Editor, create and edit your own map.
    • Click a grid to generate a single tile on the template image.
    • If you want to generate the multiple tiles, locate your mouse cursor on the grid where you want.
      • Then, type "1" key to generate 1x1 (single) tile.
      • Then, type "2" key to generate 3x3 tiles.
      • Then, type "3" key to generate 11x11 tiles.




      • While keep pressing "1", "2", or "3" keys and move the mouse cursor, you can generate the multiple tiles continuously like drawing.




    • Click a single generated tile if you need to remove on the background grids.
    • If you want to remove the multiple tiles, locate your mouse cursor on the grid where you want.
      • Then, type "4" key to remove a 1x1 (single) tile.
      • While keep pressing "4" key and move the mouse cursor on the generated tiles, you can remove the tiles continuously like drawing.




      • If you want to remove all generated tiles, then click "Reset Tiles".
      • If you want to remove all generated tiles including your template image, then click "Reset All".




    • (From Ver. 1.3.0) Click "Question" Icon to find above information when you need.




  6. On the "Tile Map Editor" in the Editor, save your current work or import your previous work to edit or keep working.




    • Click "Save Map", to save your work in your local drive.
      • You can also enter the map name in the space above the Difficulty option before you save.
    • Click "Load Map", to browse and select the map in your local drive.

Publish your maps :
  1. On the "Tile Map Editor" in the Editor, test your work.




    • Click "<" or ">" to determine difficulty of your map (1 to 5 stages).
      • Higher difficulty stage means more mines in your map.




    • (From Ver. 1.3.0) Click "Difficulty / Mines" to switch from the Difficulty Level to Mine Number to determine difficulty of your map.
      • Adjust the slider to set the mine number for your map.
      • Or, click "+" or "-" to increase or decrease the mine number for your map.




    • Click "Test Map" to test your own map before upload.




  2. On the "Tile Map Editor" in the Editor, upload your work.
    • Click "Upload Map" to upload your work when you think it is ready.




    • Type your map name if you did not type yet.
    • Check your map information on the upload window.
    • Leave the brief description about your map.

    • (From Ver. 1.3.0) Check the checkbox for "Upload as Public" on the Upload Map window if you wish to share with other players.

    • (From Ver. 1.3.0) Click "Click to see the Pixel Art" on the Upload Map window if you need to check your Pixel Art before uploading.




    • Click "Upload" button.

Play Other Players' Maps in Steam Workshop :
  1. Go to "Workshop" page in Steam website, or press "Shift + Tab" to open Steam overlay in the Steam client.
  2. Browse and choose the contents what you wish to play.
  3. Click "Subscribe" to make the content available in the game.
  4. In the world map, click "Workshop" icon on the left-bottom side to launch.




  5. On the workshop window, browse and select the maps created by you or other users.

  6. (From Ver. 1.3.0) Now you can enjoy other maps without above process! Just launch the Workshop and you can find all maps set as public in the Larger Workshop window!


PIXEL ART TUTORIAL
Pixel Art (from Ver. 1.3.0) :
  1. On the "Tile Map Editor" in the Editor, click "Pixel Art" to launch the Pixel Art to color your work.




  2. Browse and select the Color in the Palette.




    • The colors you used will be automatically saved in order you used.




    • If you purchased more color palettes from the shop in the World Map, you can enjoy more colorful and richer Pixel Art.
      • You can purchase more color palettes with Mines you obtained.
      • If you don't have enough mines, you can obtain more mines from playing the maps in the world map or the workshop.




  3. Click a grid to color a single tile on the template image.

  4. If you want to color the multiple tiles, locate your mouse cursor on the grid where you want.
    • Then, type "1" key to color 1x1 (single) tile.
    • Then, type "2" key to color 3x3 tiles.
    • Then, type "3" key to color 11x11 tile.




    • While keep pressing "1", "2", or "3" keys and move the mouse cursor, you can color the multiple tiles continuously.




  5. Click a single colored tile if you need to reset the color on the tile.

  6. If you want to reset the multiple colored tiles, locate your mouse cursor on the grid where you want.
    • Then, type "4" key to reset a 1x1 (single) tile.
    • While keep pressing "4" key and move the mouse cursor on the colored tiles, you can reset the color on the tiles continuously.




    • If you want to reset all colored tiles, then click "Reset Color".




  7. Click "Question" Icon to find above information when you need.




  8. If you finish the Pixel Art Work, then click "Exit" Icon.

  9. Likewise in 6 in Create your own maps, save again your work or import your work.

Important Reminder
Change Visibility of your Work

After uploading your workshop contents, Do Not Forget to Change the VISIBILITY of your contents to 'PUBLIC' in your workshop page. This change will let the other players find your works in the workshop page and play your workshop contents by subscribing. Please share yours with others and enjoy the contents from others!!!

(From Ver. 1.3.0) Now you can simply and easily set the VISIBILITY for your map as 'PUBLIC' by checking the checkbox for the "Upload as Public" on the Upload Map window like mentioned in 2. at Publish your maps in the TUTORIAL section above!
