Maybe sprinkle some fan made lore into that as well, and introduce these mechanics like in the portal games! It would be a little too on the nose to feature combat, so you should probably dedicate it to a break from the puzzles, or maybe vice versa.
And I would really like it if you simplified the geometry. It's fine in this map, but if you ever plan to make it a map pack, you should probably make the hexes bigger with no rounded edges.
Even with all these stuff this map is still awesome, I recommend everybody to check it out even if you're not to puzzles; you can just appreciate the scenery!
