Description
(Formerly Custom Troops)
I made this mod for myself (to play around in free mode mostly) but I decided to release it for the community to try. My focus was on changing the things I didn't like about vanilla troops, which means some changes may not be balanced properly, so beware of that.

Changes to Troops:
Unit descriptions rewritten from scratch (Eng only)
All units are now more specialized and able to fulfill a specific role
All casters received spells that the AI can handle correctly
Rune heroes have been reworked, they are now much stronger and have a specialized class each
Swarm and Siege units are available in OoD and BoW campaigns
Please note that the mod changes ONLY the troops that you recruit from monuments.

General Changes:
Attribute requirements for leveling up skills removed (Attribute Freedom)
No need to grind for levels, leveling is made a bit easier
Rework of Mage equipment, less shields available but robes have more AC
...and much more!

Compatibilty:
The mod was developed and tested for the latest "public version" beta version on steam, it works on 1.61 too, the mod is not compatible with any mod that changes the Gamedata.cff file.

Personally, I have an error page with the MOD (I only have this mod installed on this game). I can't show a screenshot here but here's the message displayed when I launch a game with a freshly created character in free play mode (solo).

The message : SpellForce critical error : UiUtilCompose.ccp(1925) : error: assertment failed Message: UiUntilCompose:: TokenParseDecimalDef(): invalid Token at position 53

Hi, i have a question with the installation, so both files data and sgl_item going on the Data folder or just data in Data folder and sgl_item in the main folder? im so confused :(

Hey guys, I found this ReadMe in the workshop folder for this mod, and it seemed to work for me!

Military Reforms by Rototom94 - README

How to install:
1) go to Spellforce Platinum Edition\data folder
2) Drop the content of the folders in your main installation folder
4) Enjoy!

To uninstall:
1) delete the modded Gamedata.cff file
2) restore your backup Gamedata.cff file
3) delete the sql_item.lua file in the \script folder

is there anyone who knows how to install mods? i cant seem to get a workaround and how to do it

I only use this mod, but after the last patch they did, it doesn;t work anymore for me.

@macadamstreet As a rule of thumb, you can only use 1 mod that affects gameplay at a time because they're not compatible with each other. I know it's not the answer you wanted, but it's better to stick with 1 mod only, because mix and match will not work most of the time (you can still use the texture mod obviously, since it doesn't affect gameplay).

nice. so that also mean i could eventually use only the "item" mod from the other ? it could be compatible (if it exist, i think.)
