Description
Union Pacific with Double Stacks

The EMD DDA40X is a 6,600 hp (4,943 kW) D-D locomotive, built from 1969 to 1971 exclusively for the Union Pacific Railroad.[1] It is the most powerful diesel-electric locomotive model ever built on a single frame, having two 16-645E3A diesel prime movers.[2] Union Pacific has marked DD40X on the cab exteriors, while EMD literature inconsistently refers to this model as either DD-40X or DDA40X.[3] UP's DDA40X locomotives were the ultimate culmination of the company's experiments with extremely powerful locomotives that began with its gas turbine-electric locomotives and DD35s.[4] For manufacturer EMD, the construction of the world's most powerful single frame locomotive was a sign of the company's dominance of the North American diesel locomotive market, with only GE Transportation an equal competitor.

DDA40X was a three way collaboration between me, Evametry and Nostrix, for the release of Railway 2 last year. After with a slight delay of 6ish months, it's finally out on Workshop.

Features
- ElectroMotive DDA40X Gas turbine locomotive, made by Evametry
- 1:1 true scale, Maxi IV double stack containers, made by Nostrix
- Random Trailer Variant import and finalisation, by REV0.

Compatible with

Since DDA40X is accurately made and features first 1:1 scaled double stacks on Workshop, it is compatible with Railway 2 networks, if your train tracks feature overhead wires.

This is a super long train, therefore use with caution. Dummy variant will be released later.

I'm using that mod and havent seen a problem so far, I'll investigate it further

Yes. I try tomorrow. Do you know if the livestream had the trailer variantion mod? I've investigated a bit more and quite sure the error are somehow related to that mod

I just saw someone using these yesterday on a livestream so not sure what's going on with yours.

Can you sub new NS train I published and see if it's the same issue ? Could be also cargo load per train being different.
Mini 10 Feb, 2024 @ 9:55am
Hi, I have the same as previous person. I've added the Random Trailers Mod but that causes another error.
Although no error message are shown, new trains fail to spawn. Existing trains from previous saves operate normally until reaching the map edge and despawning as usual. However, no new trains emerge, whether from the map edge or any cargo/train station. I guess its an issue with the mod because if i unsub trains are back again. What do you think?

Thanks for your help. But I think you misunderstood. I dont want more variation. I like the way things look in your pics above and the way the LOD looks. I was wondering why, when I get close, the containers change, i.e. other full model are used/loaded...

Sub that mod see if it fixes the problem

@REV0 Hi. No, I don't.
REV0  [author] 13 Jan, 2023 @ 7:44am
do you have Random Trailers Mod from Access Violation ?
CC Johnson 13 Jan, 2023 @ 6:19am
Thank you for your hard work, I really love to use this asset.
I do have two issues though: The LOD and the close up models of the upper containers do not match, when you zoom in all of them change, which is kinda irritating. To this end when I loaded my save today and zoomed onto a train I was greeted by a sea of pink ONE containers...
