Marisa Kirisame

Marisa Kirisame, an ordinary, kleptomaniac human magician, has joined the battle! She specialises in light and heat magic, and is agile to boot. She also runs a shop called Kirisame Magic Shop, as an attachment to her house (though she's more often than not absent, likely off somewhere stealing items or procuring mushrooms in the forests).
When she's not doing either of those, she's usually helping Reimu Hakurei solve mysterious incidents that plague the residents of Gensokyo, or Gensokyo itself.

Her motto is as follows: "it ain't magic if it ain't flashy. Danmaku's all about firepower."


NEUTRAL SPECIAL: Magic Missile
Marisa shoots out a blue aura of heat that fires forwards.
If used in midair, it pushes her backwards slightly and makes her fall far slower.

SIDE SPECIAL: Hip Check / Witch Leyline
Marisa throws herself forwards, bumping the enemy with her hip. She will continue her momentum after hitting them, potentially going offstage; however -
Keeping the Special button held makes Marisa pull out her broom, allowing her to recover horizontally.
UP SPECIAL: Star Sign - "Escape Velocity"
Marisa performs an uppercut with her broom, dealing damage. If it is held down, she will twirl more, allowing another move and launching her upwards even higher.
During this move, Marisa is extremely vulnerable to high knockback.

DOWN SPECIAL: Magical Reusable Bomb
Marisa hurls a pot overhead that explodes upon impact; the explosion lasts for a short time.
In midair, if the Special button is held, she will hurl it downwards.
The explosion damages both enemies and Marisa.
Due to the angle and speed of the pot, it can catch opponents offguard.

ULTRA: Love Sign - "Master Spark"
Marisa pulls out a Spell Card, and charges up to unleash her signature beam (albeit not rainbow coloured). She will also do a hop in the air as she begins the beam; if the Special button is held down, she will not jump. This allows the move to catch opponents offguard.
This move is long lasting, and goes across the entire screen in a thin stream, piercing shields. If it hits, it will do absurd damage.
There is also a hitbox in front of Marisa?s palms as she begins the beam, and after she's finished, a large explosion will occur around her dealing 1 damage to those caught in the blast but doing large knockback.


SPECIAL MECHANICS:
Marisa flips her direction during her mid air dodge.
Her Down Air returns her to Idle animation if it connects early. As of Patch 1, her primary hitbox during Side B also has this property.


PROS:
Plenty of Marisa's moves, when used in tandem, can behave in a way as to trap, deny or even distract opponents. She also is very difficult to defeat without being launched heavily, as her broom grants her longevity and air time.
Her hitbox is also quite small, and she is quite quick to move around.


CONS:
Marisa can struggle to confirm kills, and on top of this, her moves can be very predictable if used carelessly and/or constantly.
Her Ultra, Love Sign - "Master Spark", while exceptionally powerful, can be easy to dodge, especially for opponents who can last in the air for a long time.
