MZA/RENFE Renault ZO railcar (9150-9154)

Since the end of the 1920s, the company MZA (Madrid-Zaragoza-Alicante) became interested in the small gasoline-powered railcars that were becoming popular in France, to reduce costs in unprofitable secondary lines. After some economic difficulties suffered by the company in the early 1930s, the order could not be placed until 1935. The chosen model was the Renault ZO, a small railbus with a 110 hp engine and based on bus models of the French brand, and that had already entered service in 1934 for the Old French state railways or ETAT.
Finally, the first automobiles arrived in mid-1936 at the Canfranc international station, on the Spanish-French border, but the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War prevented them from reaching their destination, remaining in the Aragon region, where they only made test trips until the end of the war.
After the end of the war, the MZA company moved them to Zaragoza depot, where they would be used for secondary service in the region. With the creation of RENFE, the Renault ZOs were integrated into the 9100 series, keeping the original colors of the MZA (red/cream) and remained running on the lines of Aragón and Navarra.
Following a renovation in the mid-1950s, the ZOs received a new Pegaso engine and were painted in the unified silver-green livery. At the end of the sixties, the continuous failures meant that most of these cars were left in reserve, being replaced by more modern series.
Unfortunately none of these Renault ZO was preserved and none have survived to this day. This mod incorporates them into the game in three versions: MZA, RENFE and RENFE with unified livery.
