NiteOwl Astro Droid Pack
This asset mod adds some familiar Droids as Small Grid Repair system, utilizing the vanilla ship welder system to make basic repairs on the go! Currently the base/ seat for the Droids match the shape of the
small grid fighter cockpit, a second design is in the works. Scroll down for more info on the block info in the Notes section. Enjoy!

Droid blocks uses standard ship welder function with an expanded weld area. Standing within the weld area will cause player damage if the block is toggled on when playing in survival mode. Remember to turn your droids off before you leave your ship!

<----- Notes ----->

All Astro Droid blocks act like ship welders and will need access to supplies in order to repair attached grid blocks.
Each Droid comes with 1 small grid conveyor connection on the bottom side of the asset and will pull supplies from attached containers.

Weld/ Repair rage is 30 blocks in all directions from the droid

Custom Droid sounds are currently limited to just block damage and block destruction, currently looking to add looping droid chatter.

If the Droid is functional and the block status is turned on, the player camera will shake while in close proximity or within the welder's effect area. Camera will stop shaking if you enter a cockpit or control chair,
turn the droid block off, leave the welding area, or the droid has dropped to critical damage level and is non functional.

More Droids are currently in the works.

Mod pack include server side update to correct GUI loading errors

Droid Sounds are copyrighted Lucas Arts Ltd sounds, I take no credit in their creation nor take any financial gains for the use of these sounds within this mod pack. NiteOwl mods are free access.

Conveyor Converter Hub works by attaching vanilla small conveyor tubes to the red sides and my custom medium conveyor tubes to the blue sides.

@Zylian3907 - The pack comes with its own conveyor tubes. This is due to needing large tube capacity for moving specific items like plates while being the physical small grid size.

The driod blocks are actually using large conveyor connectors, so if you use vanilla tubes you need to convert it. The pack has a converter box with red and blue lights. Red is for vanilla small tubes, blelue is for my custom tubes, or vanilla large grid tubes, but I think that would look odd.

Any chance of a version that fits on a 2x2 space?

I have a Naboo Starfighter build that is an even number of blocks wide on account of using a 2 block wide cockpit,and all it is lacking to be perfect is an astromech that fits neatly in behind the pilot.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I can't pull from small conveyors into the droid storage. It also won't build in all directions, only on the same vertical plane as the droid itself.

perhaps following the idea of vectis, maybe an ai enabled npc might be appropriate for large grids. another thought i have might be a set of blocks that you place around and the droid pops in and out of, similar to how some mod turrets fold in when the turret is toggled off.

@vectis - At this time there is no plan for an addition like that, but I'm not opposed to the idea. Just super busy at the moment.

@TrueWhiteKnight - There is, but the first few block ideas were scrapped cause they sacked. Trying to find a way to display the Droid that would make sense for a larger grid block.
