I'll do without politics.
Hello comrade, this is a map of the stereotypical "GULAG camp".

Gulag camps are overgrown with multiple stereotypes and myths,
but I will do with a little excursion.

A little digression:
Gulag is an abbreviation of the main directorate of camps. Those convicted of murder, theft, robbery, treason, and much more were sent to GULAG camps by court verdict.
The prisoners were cheap labor, and mostly performed hard physical labor - they built railways, felled forests, worked in mines, engaged in forging, sewed clothes and other things, for which they even received a minimum wage.
These camps were located mainly in tundra, taiga zones, as these places were rich in resources, even if a prisoner escaped, he would not be able to survive in the harsh conditions of Siberia far from settlements...
