Description
Reimu Hakurei, the shrine maiden of Hakurei Shrine joins the fray, bringing with her a multitude of unorthodox tactics that she traditionally uses for youkai extermination. When she's not using her danmaku, she wields her gohei to administer sharp punishment.

NEUTRAL SPECIAL: HAKUREI YIN-YANG ORB
Reimu summons forth a Yin-Yang Orb. It floats about exceedingly slow, though it lasts a fairly long time, constantly homing in on the nearest target.
Despite its slow movement, if a foe is damaged by it, they will be dealt massive damage, filling up Reimu's Ultra meter by a considerable amount.
If one Orb already exists, Reimu will throw out a magenta amulet to deal minor damage.


SIDE SPECIAL: NEEDLE OF PERSUASION
Reimu launches a thin, fast Needle of Persuasion that propels in a straight line. It deals slight damage, with a high consistent knockback, launching those it hits upwards. One Needle lasts up to 3 seconds.

UP SPECIAL: Aerial Kick
A two foot kick upwards. Opponents hit at the apex of Reimu's feet as the move comes out will be launched far farther. If she misses, her body deals minor damage as she passes through the opponent.


DOWN SPECIAL: CAUTIONARY BARRIER
Reimu throws down a Cautionary Barrier, which remains in place wherever she created it. Opponents who come into contact with it are likely to be bounced sharply away, always being launched in the direction opposite of the barrier?s direction. It persists up to 10 seconds.
If the Barrier is already out, Reimu will throw out a blue amulet to deal minor damage.

ULTRA: SPIRIT SIGN - FANTASY SEAL
Reimu charges her mystic energy to unleash 7 glowing orbs upon the nearest foe. While they deal miniscule damage, they can be extremely difficult to dodge, and if they can hit in quick succession, they can easily place an opponent in a disadvantageous position. Each bullet launches the target upwards by a small amount.
The bullets persist up to 10 seconds after being cast, allowing remaining bullets to potentially deal additional damage to an opponent recovering from a lost stock.
Each bullet, when destroyed, recharges Reimu's Ultra meter slightly, speeding up preparation for another use.
Reimu is highly vulnerable to being damaged as she casts this however.

SPECIAL MECHANICS
Most of Reimu's attacks with her gohei [the object in her hand] have wide and/or lasting hitboxes, allowing the knockback angle and strength, and the dealt damage to differ depending on where the opponent was hit. Additionally, many of her swings or kicks have sweet spots, dealing far more damage and knockback when done at the right time.
Her crouch will shrink her hitbox to a small section of her torso.
Hitting the "Attack" button during her Running Attack produces a small kick.
Holding down the "Attack" button during Down Strong allows her to jump up higher.

PROS:
Reimu's moves typically favor bringing the foe upwards, towards or behind her. With proper positioning and planning, Reimu can keep the opponent wary of their spacing, due to her sweet spots on many moves. And even then, her sour spots will deal chip damage and may launch the opponent in an unexpected direction.


CONS:
Reimu is extremely lightweight and is shockingly susceptible to mass amounts of pressure. Her projectiles, while powerful and dangerous, are extremely predictable. She is likely to struggle against observant foes and rushdown combos. She also does not perform particularly well off-stage. When her Shield is broken, she will be pushed back farther than other characters.


OTHER NOTES
[Known bugs]
Due to the unpredictable nature of mechanics and creation, some things do not work as intended. Stay tuned for game patches that fix these issues!
* Down Special may cause unexpected animation loops that freeze those damaged by it in place at a certain angle/velocity. The only fix is to be damaged by a move with knockback.
