In the year 1066 A.D. Christianity is the dominant religion in northern Europe. Though vast differences exist between the Norman church in Francia, the Anglo-Saxon church of Anglia, and the catholic churches of the north.

Hidden in the wilder and more untamed reaches of northern Europe, pagan cults survive among the Celtic and Pictish tribes and clans - even the old Norse gods still find worship among some of the northmen.
