Omega is built for brutally fast rushdown and unrelenting combos. What he lacks in raw attack power he makes up for with speed and versatility.

Overdrive
Omega can build meter for Overdrive by landing normal attacks (Jab, Tilts, Strongs, Aerials). Specials do not build meter, with the exception of USpecial. Meter gain is based on hit count; every 3 hits will net 1 bar.
Overdrive is activated by pressing Attack + Special (can be buffered) and lasts until an EX Skill is used or meter is depleted. Holding Taunt while active will execute normal attacks rather than EX Skills. For this reason it is recommended to set Taunt to an easily held button, such as a L/R bumper.

Each standard (non-EX) projectile requires 1 bar of Overdrive to use. This includes NSpecial(Air), FSpecial(Air), DSpecial(Air), and DTilt. As a rule of thumb, projectiles are strongest at the start and weaken with distance.
Attacks can still be used without meter but will not fire projectiles. Holding Taunt will also withhold any projectiles (EX included) when used with meter.

Specials


NSpecial: Buster Shot
Can be fired twice while on the ground. Doing so incurs 50% more cooldown. Blank shots have a small, weak hitbox at the muzzle.


FSpecial: Kougenjin
Travels straight forward when grounded and down-forward while aerial.


USpecial: Split Heavens
Does not cause pratfall but lowers air acceleration. Can be reversed on-hit at the start.


DSpecial: Messenkou
Has super armor on startup when grounded; aerial version is a spike.

Strong Attacks


FStrong: Saber Smash
Strongest at the base of the saber and weaker towards the edge. Splash hitbox only deals hitstun if already in hitstun. The tip can spike aerial opponents.


UStrong: Rising Smash
Consists of a low, mid, and high hitbox. The low sweep launches at a shallow angle while the tipper launches straight up. UTilt is a faster, weaker version with similar properties.


DStrong: O Knuckle
Spikes aerial foes and pops up grounded ones with heavy hitstun. The quake effect denotes the range of the grounded hitbox.

EX Skills


Thunder Stab (Dattack)
Cost: 1
A forward thrust that stuns, making it very effective when used to DACUS. Also has a strong tipper.


Sharp Edge (Dair)
Cost: 1
Spikes at the tip of the saber, rather than the base. Can freeze grounded opponents.


Shinkujin (Fspecial)
Cost: 2
Stuns and sends at a lower angle than a standard Fspecial.


Earth Crush (Dstrong)
Cost: 2
Smash the ground launching 4 chunks of rubble.


Ice Blade (Dtilt)
Cost: 3
Blade beam is larger and travels further. Can freeze grounded opponents.


Charge Saber (Fstrong)
Cost: 3
Larger and stronger Fstrong. Still has an aerial spike hitbox, too.


Ryuenjin (Uspecial)
Cost: 4
Draws in opponents, hitting multiple times and inflicting burn. Has a powerful launcher at the end. Good at low % for quick damage, and an excellent kill confirm at high %.


Shoenzan (Ustrong)
Cost: 4
Inflicts burn and creates an upward wave of flames.


Arc Blade (Nair)
Cost: 5
Fires 5 small crescents forward to back. Can freeze grounded opponents.


Rekkoha (Dspecial)
Cost: 6
Pillars of light appear to surround Omega. Soft armor during startup but completely invincible during the attack. Heals 24%.


Ranbu (Nspecial)
Cost: 7
Fast and deadly 7-hit combo. Final strike can be reversed on-hit. This wild dance is best avoided altogether, but if you find yourself its victim, DI up to avoid the sweetspot.

Tips and Tricks

  • Fair can be held (Skull Crush)
  • Bair can be cancelled into any other action on-hit, including another Bair
  • Ftilt has semi-spike properties at the lowest front hitbox
  • Dash attack has a tipper
  • Omega can DACUS
  • Taunt can be held and cancelled with Shield
  • Hold Jump when walljumping to wallslide
  • Aerial Dspecial can be double-reversed
