The original version of Skyrim, also known as "Oldrim" in the modding community, is still available for purchase on Steam despite being delisted by Bethesda. This guide contains links to the original Skyrim released in 2011, as well as its DLC.

Why Oldrim?
Modding, mostly. Many older mods are designed for the original version of Skyrim, and will not work on Special Edition without being ported. Players with less powerful hardware might also see performance benefits from using the older version due to its lower-quality assets.

I've owned Skyrim since around the time LE came out and didn't know about the official HD texture pack until the beginning of this year ;_;

TBH most of the mods on LE has been already ported to SE but this is extremely useful for Low End PCs given that LE runs on DX9 which is easier on Intergrated graphics ect

I'd recommend getting a legendary edition key from G 2 A for around $18AUD. :)
