Hi all. This video guide has an easy to follow "to-do list" of mods and fixes that will help you to get F.E.A.R Extraction Point up and running on a Win10 system in 2022 or later.

This guide is focused on the Steam version of the game. The solutions are not certain to work on any other versions.

This video will cover all of the contents mentioned in the rest of the guide. The separate sections will simply go into a bit more detail as to what they fix.

The first three points in the video guide deals with just getting the game to start. Problems can have to do with not running the correct version of windows of having to add a launch options command line from the Steam Library view.

F.E.A.R Extraction Point suffers from unstable FPS levels. It can either be irritating or even stutter and crash the game. In order to deal with this problem we need to inject an additional dll-file. The so called "dinput8.dll".

F.E.A.R Extraction Point does not have an ingame option of running at 1920x1080. This is something we have to add through additional files and tweaking settings.

If you want to add this solution only once I highly recommend that you go into the game and pick all other display settings that you like. After doing that apply the 1920x1080.

The subtitles in F.E.A.R Extraction Point are very small and if you want them at all you will probably need this solution.

We need to dowload additional files and then tweak settings documents.

F.E.A.R Extraction Point can freeze and crash due to memory leaks. It can also simply run out of memory. This has to do with it being an old game that had a hard cap on RAM memory. This fix adds more memory for the game to work with.

If you are a content creator or for some other reason want to capture the game through OBS Studio you need the right capture form. I used "Display" view and "fit to screen" in order to have the recording fill the entire screen.

If you only use Display view the recorded video will only fill parts of the screen.
