Type "-userdirectory FEAR_USER" under the Set Launch Options command line, under preferences, by right clicking the game FEAR, in your library. This enabled me to run the game really well, despite the fact that none of the levels after the initial first mission would load at all. Use FEARXP_USER and FEARXP2_USER ( the .exe files for the other two expansion packs) instead of FEAR_USER in the set launch options command line in order to properly run the expansion packs. For Examlple -userdirectory FEARXP_USER for FEAR Extraction Point and
-userdirectory FEARXP2_USER to run FEAR Perseus Mandate. Thx for reading this post and good luck.
Oh, and dont forget to run the games in WINXP (Service Pack3) and also to download the patch that fixes the frame rate on the PC.

weird that people are having trouble with this, FEAR runs at 144 fps for me just fine so idk

it is weird when games can't work at 60FPS; but work to something slightly less.

the one thing that got me able to play this; atleast on windows 7 was letting it run on admin, after that; never had right click to run admin abilities to run the game again.

no i don't think that it will make a difference. The solution that i posted worked to remedy a different issue with the game. I don't think it will matter if you put in those Launch options in the "Set Launch options" field. the problem that i was having was that the game wouldn't load the intervals in the game. I think that maybe you should try to research your issue in the Steam forums or discussion sections that are available in the Steam App. I noticed that some people on there are having a similar issue with that part of the game. Maybe they can help you with that.

I tried the first command and it worked until i got to the subway again where i said kicked out of server.
So yeah....
Do i need to try the second command now and see if it works? Or no?
