Cat I - Adaptive Starter-CV for Reforged Eden

You hate that long grind of resources for those Starter-CVs you consider End-Game? You can not possibly find enough Neo for all the Thrusters these need nor any other rare material? You're sick of having to build an ugly makeshift starter base just for the constructor just to tear it apart afterwards?

Search no more!

The ultra-cheap, highly efficient and highly upgradable Starter-CV to jumpstart your adventure! With space for a pair of small vessels, garden, various devices, shield+boost and warp as well as automated pilot recognition [tm] you can be sure you have everything you need for your first CV. Start off with the cheapest variant as a base, then convert your base into a CV? Or maybe you can already afford one of the more advanced variants? Choose from one of the 5 variants according to your budget and upgrade as you progress - you can even turn it into a versatile small CV Miner!

This ship is designed to be your first Base and CV with some basic defenses up to being a shielded and warp capable CV even with mining capabilities. It has a huge cargo for its size - and fully upgraded with medium thrusters even a 4G-Planet is not a problem.

There are 5 Variants for all budgets available:

BA: No Thrusters, Small Constructor

BA+MG: Same as BA, but with 1 Minigun Turret

C1: Same as BA+MG, but with 10 Small Thrusters, Cockpit, MedBay, Detector

C2: Same as C1, but with: Basic CPU Extender, Pentaxid Tank, Warp Drive, 2nd Minigun Turret, Advanced Constructor, 16 Medium Thrusters (replacing the 10 small ones from C1), Large Generator, Medium Fuel Tank, Compact Shield Generator and Shield Capacitor.
The previous version of this variant was also featured in XCaliber's Prefab Certification Challenge and certified as a Starter-CV.

C2 Miner: Same as C2, but with additional 2 CV Mining Drills!

Known Issues
  • yes, this ship can probably store more cargo than it can lift. It's up to you to find out how much you can lift with the current thrust you gave it.
  • The ship turns on by itself sometimes. Can't help it, its based on the sensors. If they don't work properly the ships circuits wont either.
  • In Multiplayer the signals don't work. Yes, again - signal logic does not work properly in MP. Use the manual override, or just hit the group toggles.
  • Signals go crazy when another player is around. Well, the ship gets excited around other people.

FAQ:
Q: Will these work for RE1.7?
A: Yes, these ships have been designed for RE specifically. In doubt, check the changelog of the respective variant.

Q: Will this work on starter-planet X?
A: This starter was designed to work on all starter planet types! It's up to you to upgrade it to your likings.

Q: Why all these variants?
A: I always make sure i can always get the most upgraded variant out of my current budget, hence i always chose the most higher tier i can afford.

Q: Can i disable the automation?
A: Yes, just turn off the "Automation" toggle in the ship properties and use the switches as you would use them on any other ship.

Q: Help! Signals are not working as expected!
A: Ancient bugs in EGS. Some workarounds:
* automatic pilot detection can be disabled with the "Automation"-Switch in the properties
* check if signals deactivated themselves in the ship properties
* walk slowly far away and slowly back to the ship.
* re-dock with other CV if its docked
* re-dock all docked ships
* logout and login to the game again.
* if nothing helps: restart the game.
