Project Xenotype: Chapter 2: Ascellians

Description
Pending Update to 3.12.x ⚠️

Project Xenotype is an ambitious undertaking to revamp and expand vanilla Stellaris portraits.
As an evolving project, this mod will continue to grow as more content is developed over time.

This version is not achievement-compatible, but the Lite version is. You may find it here.

Here's what's included so far:

Humanoid 03:
• Universally revamped and reworked artwork supported by a plethora of original new pieces
• Rebuilt and refined base mesh for males and females
• 5 male and 5 female phenotype variations, each available in all 4 vanilla colors (40 total!)
• 24 unique headgear options for males and females (48 total!)
• 26 unique outfits for males and females (52 total!)
• Job- and role-specific outfit selection for all rulers, leaders, and pops

(An overall increase from 14 to 140 items. That's 1000% more content!)

Ascellians:
• Custom base mesh for a new female humanoid portrait featuring all-original artwork
• 6 phenotype variations in two body types, each available in 4 color variations (24 total!)
• 28 unique shared headgear / hair options and an additional 6 for both body types (40 total!)
• 30 unique outfits for both body types (60 total!)
• Job- and role-specific outfit selection for all rulers, leaders, and pops

(A flat addition of 124 new items!)

I don't believe so. The issue comes from fundamental changes to how pops are handled in general, in that they're no longer individual entities, but more easily referenced groups with a vaguer set of attributes. It no longer has a way to distinguish which pops are assigned to which jobs.

All of this I've gleaned from discussions at the Modding Den, mind you, so take my second-hand summary with a grain of salt.

@TheMinxLynx would a mod like Portrait Trigger Pack - Core fix this issue?

Unlikely. PDX removed outfit triggers for jobs with their new updates, so much of the appeal of the mod was killed. If the project is ever revisited from an art side, we may revise the model and revisit it, but for now, there aren't solid plans.

Any updates for 4.0?

As I did in the original, discontinued version of the species, though Hestrir's art is entirely his own.

You really should be crediting Stygian100 for the Ascellians art if you're using their art as a base, right?

I do keep the thought in the back of my mind, but there hasn't been any progress worth speaking of on the art side, and personally I've only grown farther and farther from Stellaris myself. I don't even have it installed anymore. Even so, updates may continue to be intermittent, but I wouldn't expect any expansions to come in the foreseeable future.
