Description
BACKGROUND
The R.S.V. Anvik is an Alaska Class research yacht designed and built by OMUA (Oceanic Marine Underwater Agency), a (fictional) multinational marine and research agency. Designed and built as a high-speed, quick response mothership, the Anvik has an onboard deep sea exploration mini-sub and long range helicopter. The sleek and low hull and superstructure allow the vessel to reach speeds in excess of 43 knots while also withstanding hurricane force winds and open ocean waves. An advanced stabilization system also prevents the vessel from capsizing, and has an emergency system to recover the vessel if it is flipped over. The Ray LX-23 helicopter is specifically paired with the Anvik, and can be used to summon the vessel to it's location using an autopilot command feature.

The yacht features private luxury living quarters, a large and open lounge, a covered deck with hottub, a sundeck, and a laboratory. As with all OMUA vessels, all systems are designed to be operated by a 1-man crew, in case of emergencies. The Anvik has a standard operations crew of 3 and up to 6 other staff.

TIPS
  • Find the bulletin board in the main hallway - it has some tips and tricks for the vessel
  • The ship may be erratic in heavy seas, requiring a good captain. Lower speed, turn on the active stabilization, use your gear ratios, fill the ballast tanks, use the trim, and steer into/with the wind.
  • The attached vehicles may be limited to a 5 km radius otherwise will cause the main vessel to disappear.

This boat doesn't want to stay upright for some reason..thought it was cause my fuel was so low, but I've added 40,000L of ballast and she still just wants to tip over

Accidentally crashed my ship into a pole, and tried to escape using the heli, so that I could still yet finish the mission. For some reason, the heli won't take off, even when I do 1 4 2.
