Zardoz speaks to you, his chosen ones. You have been raised up from brutality, to kill the brutals who multiply, and are legion. To this end, Zardoz your god gave you the gift of the gun. The gun is good. The penis is evil. The penis shoots seeds, and makes new life, and poisons the earth with a plague of men, as once it was. But the gun shoots death, and purifies the earth of the filth of brutals. Go forth and kill!

Preface: This mod is made for me. Me alone. I'm just sharing it. So it's designed specifically for me, it may not be what you want but you're free to not download it. If you don't want the core changes you can edit the file called "ZA_CorePatches.xml".

I've play tested it a little bit, I've confirmed everything is "right" in dev but you never know. So it's in beta. There may be balance changes. The bangberry throwable is way to dangerous for tribals.

Features
  • Replacement of every vanilla gun with slightly modified stats (combat is now a tiny bit longer ranged)
  • New Gun Sounds

  • Few changes to vanilla armor (Flak Vest is now the Plate Vest and pre Machining)
  • Unique Weapons that will only appear on enemies/traders/friendlies and in quests rewards
  • Slightly modified research tree to allow for pre-Machining guns
  • Designed specifically for Yayo Combat 3 (for now)
  • Has custom ammo types for every class of weapon. No more Antimaterial Rifles using the same ammunition as a auto pistol.
  • Soft incompatible with any other weapon mod due to my ammo mod "All Bullets Matter" but that can be fixed with patches.



Research Changes
Gunsmithing was moved to be in between Smithing and Machining. Historically, being able to create better and better firearms drove the innovation in machining. This allows for 2 tiers of pre-Machining guns, the breach loader and revolver unlocked with smithing, and the repeating firearms unlocked with Gunsmithing(now before machining); bolt action, lever action, pumpshotgun, and the combat shotgun (trench shotgun with bayonet).

  • Combat Shotgun unlocked with Gunsmithing. Shotgun.
  • Battle Rifle unlocked with Gas Operation. Rifle.
  • General Purpose Machine Gun unlocked with Gas Operation. Rifle.
  • Mounted General Purpose Machine Gun unlocked with Gas Operation. Rifle.
  • Mounted Heavy Machine Gun unlocked with Precision Rifling. Heavy.
  • PDW unlocked with Precision Rifling. Pistol.
  • Anti Material Rifle unlocked with Precision Rifling. Heavy.
  • Gauss Rifle unlocked with Charge Shot. Gauss Ammo.
  • Charge Carbine unlocked with Charge Shot. Charge Ammo.

Small inconsistency between the art which is my bad (outline size). I need to do another pass on some of the earlier guns I did.

Combat Extended Compatibility
I have made a CE version of this and my other mods. It is a fork of CE itself because I'm to lazy to do a billion patch operations and something about disabling CE's vanilla patches. It is here

Credits
  • Weapon sounds come from BF2, Project Reality (mostly because I had it already installed on my computer), some I had recorded from MW19 and other games.
  • Janson's Weapontech served as a major inspiration, I've used that mod for maybe over 1800 hours. This mod was going to be a spiritual successor to it but then I realized Weapontech has a really favorable license so I was able to use some code from it to save time, namely the mounted weapon defs. I also copied his vanilla changes since to me they've become vanilla. So you can get earlier and cheaper armor because I've upped the armor pen on most things to deal with Yayo Combat 3. I may make a patch for his mod someday to work with the ammo system.

  • Weapon textures were based off the fabulous models by TastyTony link [sketchfab.com] and austincford link [sketchfab.com] under this License link[creativecommons.org]. They were edited and several of the weapons are actually based off both of their models combined together.

No, as any mod with sound defs is incompatible with 1.4 due to 1.4 rewritting how sound defs are supposed to be written. Minor change but I have not done it for this mod, you should check out Zardoz Armory II which is 1.4 compatible. The reason for II is because I'd rather start the mod over from scratch since I had things I didn't like about this one both gameplay and XML def wise.

@Battle Cessna My second unreleased mod has it, it's unreleased for no particular reason except I wanted CE compatibility but with how I'm overwriting vanilla guns it's messes with CE's patches. There is a mounted and handheld Mk19 in it. You can find it here, infact since it's unlisted you can only find it with this link.

The new mod is almost TOO vanilla balanced, but with Yayo Combat 3 (and a tweak to it's settings), and some mods for vanilla damage system makes a good alternative to CE.

@Zardoz Actual, I hope you will make a vanilla balance Rimworld mod with many weapons, good textures of this vanilla style and your style (modern Kalashnikov assault rifle with optical sight or fn fal with bipods and an enlarged magazine in the form of a light machine gun, etc.) and various functions, good luck in your work, thanks in advance for the good Rimworld modifications

It would be a great set of weapons for vanilla, if you didn't have to install a bunch of necessary modifications for this
