Old Power Station (19th century)

Description
Old power plant wich provides 2.1MW employing 25 workers, coal can be unloaded from a truck or as modernity using a convoyer link. Two medium voltage connections. Lots of polution (no filters) but not too much coal cosumption.

This tiny old power station made of bricks and steel boilers was probably the first power facility in the region, built to provide electricity to some lost mine or for a little town center, in the last years of the 19th century..

Made in the game building editor with some texture packs needed to be suscribed too.

I just checked and it is working fine for me.
May be some random bug, or just normal behaviour with the new maintenance system in beta.

The structure of the building broke down

I reduced the coal consumption to 9 Tn maximun, that way I think it is more reasonable for the game but at the same time it is realistical for this low-efficiency old plants.
Thanks to ComissarPigeon for suggestion!

Thanks Duke Flapjack. No worries about the asphalt, it is only cosmetic not used in the building construction. It uses a bit of gravel. concrete, and specially bricks, steel and boards. Most modern thing it requires is mechanical components for the generators :)

I'm all for realism personally. I will use the hell out of this building and replace it eventually when it becomes obsolete. Those of us who start in 1905 need every building they can get that doesn't use a lot of complex materials.

In fact, if you could create a version that does not use asphalt (as I am assuming it does) a lot of us would greatly appreciate it. I try very hard to use nothing but gravel, boards, and bricks in my early games. Steel is usually unavoidable, but I import it in small quantities. Concrete is doable but I try to avoid it. I never use prefab until at least the 1950s and I try hard to avoid asphalt as it is the only construction material that is not easy to supply early game.

May be I will try to see if I can reduce a bit more the coal consumption. It is complicated to manage those data in the game, I reduced it as I could.

Anyway in these old power houses efficiency of generators was ridiculous like 10% or even 1.5%. I tried to reenact the first simple model with steam engines feed with coal to make dinamo generators move as in such times. So all in all I think it can be correct :D

The building itself is very pretty, tho.

It burns 12 tonnes of coal per 125 kWh? Medium sized power plants usually produce 30 per ton and smaller ones 20. Probably 6-8 tonnes would be more appropriate. :trolley:
