Information

Panther Ausf. F is a German medium tank. Historically, this Panther was supposed to replace the Panther Ausf. G in tank units. However, by April – May 1945, work had not even been completed to prepare for the start of mass production. The main difference between this modification and the previous ones is the tower of a new design — Schmalturm. The frontal sheet of the turret is much smaller and somewhat thicker, which, together with the new gun mask, improves protection in the frontal projection. The weapon has been redesigned, in particular the muzzle brake has been removed, but its firing characteristics have not changed. The crew in the new tower loads the cannon faster. The turret rotation speed has decreased in comparison with Panther Ausf. G. The commander's turret is lower, but less armored.
Panther Ausf. F has a good frontal armor, but is very vulnerable to fire in the side and stern. For the opponents of the Panther, the main thing is not to get into the mask if it is facing strictly in front.
