PLEASE BEWARE THAT ENABLING MODS DISABLES STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS.

This modification works with:
  • Gates of Hell (Vanilla Game)
  • DLC 1 - Talvisota
  • DLC 2 - Scorched Earth
  • DLC 3 - Liberation
  • DLC 4 - Airborne

Just try it out. A lot of research and work has gone into this. I'm still working on this mod. This mod works with the base game V1.047.0 and the ENGLISH localisation of the game. It changes all unit descriptions and font colors in Campaign, Conquest, Skirmish and Multiplayer. It also changes the Buy Menu in Skirmish and Multiplayer.

At least for me, it makes the game a lot easier to play because now you know what you will get. It does not change any values of units (range, damage, etc). You can easily see the changes in EXTRAS - UNITS LIBRARY. Feel free to post any comments, critics etc.

This mod does not change the Buy Menu in the Singleplayer Campaign (I'm still working on that files...), because the singleplayer files are completely different from the multiplayer files used in Conquest, Skirmish, Multiplayer etc.

• German "Wehrmacht" units vehicles/weapons are now highlighted in a Light Gray
• Soviet "Red Army" units vehicles/weapons are now highlighted in a Light Red
• Finnish "Puolustusvoimat" units vehicles/weapons are now highlighted in a Light Blue
• American "US Armed Forces" units vehicles/weapons are now highlighted in a Light Green
• Commonwealth units vehicles/weapons are now highlighted in a Light Brown

• In the Buy menu, you can see now the amount (X) of soldiers you will receive
• In the Buy menu, the correct caliber of any vehicle, gun or rifle is now displayed

• Red Army units names are changed back to their original cyrillic name
• Corrected Sd.Kfz. and Kfz. numbers are added and displayed in Dark Grey
• Historical suggestive names are now displayed in Dark Red for all factions
• Improved weapon / gear / ammo / magazine / caliber descriptions for all factions
• Corrected many german spelling errors (I'm german...)
• The kill log / event history is now easier to read (who kills who - with what?)
• Many upper and lower case corrections and other small changes

• Replaced "Squad" with "Gruppe" for Wehrmacht (9-12 soldiers)
• Replaced "Team" with "Trupp" for Wehrmacht (2-8 soldiers)
• Replaced "Engineers" with "Pioniers" for Wehrmacht

With the new update adding armor thickness values when hovering over an armoured vehicle, there is the bug caused by the mod to instead write: mp/scene/hint_armor_thickness

I'm not an expert, but I think it is caused by the colors being.. incompatible? I don't know if this can be fixed. Just saying.
