Information

German medium tank Panzerkampfwagen Panther (7.5 cm KwK L/70) Ausführung A or Pz.Kpfw. Panther Ausf. A - differed in a more simplified tower, and the commander's turret was similar to the Tiger's turret. Booking "Panther" is average. The frontal armor is protected by a strong VLD at an angle of 55 degrees and a thickness of 80 mm, which deters a lot of enemy guns. NLD with a thickness of 60 mm at the same angle is more vulnerable. The frontal armor of the turret is less armored, except for a small area on the edges of the gun mask. The mask is rounded with a thickness of 100 mm in the middle and the thickness decreases below and above the middle. You can hope for ricochets, but they are also dangerous because of the possibility of a ricochet down from the mask into the roof of the 16-mm thick case. The forehead of the tower is also 100 mm, but actually at a right angle. The sides of the hull are 40 mm thick. The upper part is at an angle of 40 degrees, the lower one is installed vertically and covered with a 5 mm screen. The hull side is poorly protected. The sides of the tower are 45 mm and covered with tracks 20 mm thick. The stern of the tower and hull is similar to the thickness of the sides. Mobility one of the advantages of the Panther A over other versions is high maximum speed and dynamics.
