Emden Jager B6 Midship Prototype

This is a prototype of the Emden Jager with a midship engine, modified from the Volkswagen EA266 prototype that was built before the Golf.
Removed the front engine, Porsche B6 M64.01 engine is installed under the rear seat and made rear-wheel drive. Since it was difficult to install the Jager's original I4 engine lying down, the Porsche B6 engine is installed instead in a reduced size and low power.
The rear seat is lifted upwards and the engine is stored under the seat. A large trunk space is available at the front and rear of the vehicle.
Since the EA266 is an air-cooled engine, we have purposely added a cooling system that is not originally needed for the B6 M64. The air intakes on the side of the body are exposed so as not to be noticeable. The exhaust pipes have also been redesigned to match the midship engine.
The peripherals and suspension were chosen to be old-fashioned to match the standards of the 1960s. The interior and tires are also of the same old design.
This is a prototype car that was never released and failed to become a popular car despite its high level of perfection. Have fun with it.


ミッドシップエンジンを搭載した、Emden Jagerの試作車です。Golf以前に試作されたVolkswagen EA266を参考に改造しました。
前部エンジンを撤去、後部シート下にPorsche B6 M64.01エンジンを搭載し後輪駆動にしました。Jager本来のI4エンジンを寝かせて設置するのは難しかったので、代わりにPorscheのB6エンジンを縮小し低出力にして搭載しています。
後部シートを上に持ち上げ、シート下にエンジンを収納。車体前後には広いトランクスペースが確保されています。
EA266は空冷式エンジンなので、B6 M64には本来不要な冷却装置をあえて増設しています。車体側面には目立たないようにエアインテークを露出。ミッドシップエンジンにあわせエキゾーストパイプも一新しています。
周辺装置やサスペンションは'60年代の水準に合わせ古いタイプを選択。内装やタイヤも古いデザインで統一しています。
高い完成度を持ちながら発売されることなく、大衆車になりそこねた試作車です。楽しんでください。
