Purrloin

Description
Purrloin, from Pokemon Black and White, is here to steal your stocks! He is a fast but fragile rushdown fighter with a lot of tricky moves that may catch you off guard. Stay on guard and don't loose your cool when you fight this devious creature!
Purrloin was made for the 2021 Rivals of Aether Workshop Pokejam. This is the public version that will periodically receive updates.

Nspecial (Assist): Purrloin quickly whistle's for assistance with a weak but fast hitbox. Meowth and/or Oshawott will come to your aid as long as their assist timer (blue and below their hp) is full. Calling them out costs half the assist bar (5 seconds), and if they've fainted, they'll need the full 10 seconds of the assist bar to recover.

Meowth and Oshawot have one goal: Protect Purrloin and win his heart (even if it means taking hits FROM Purrloin)!
-Their best utility is tanking and destroying projectiles and hitboxes, making them useful anti-zoning tools.
-This also means they destroy active hurtboxes once hit, making it a bit safer for Purrloin to counter attacks or recovery when near them.
-Any move with an effect that triggers upon hit will also be triggered by these simps, meaning approaching fspecials like Shovelknight, Ash (the cheetah boxer on workshop), or Purrloin themselves will be haulted in their tracks, but will not suffer whiff lag or whiff pratfall.
-Purrloin's Dair will also bounce off of them, which may be useful in covering recoveries or saving yourself from landing lag.

Fspecial (Fake Out!!): A quick dash forward ending in a weak slap, popping the opponent into the air a bit. At the start of a match or a stock, this move comes out incredibly fast, but if any of Purrloin’s moves are used before it, the move will lose horizontal distance and take much longer to come out. Good for quickly getting back on stage or to the wall, just make sure you don’t do it off stage without hitting anyone, or you’ll be sent into pratfall and will likely perish!

Uspecial (Play Rough): An active 2 part grab with a small vertical hop that latches onto opponents, thrashes them around, then kicks them downward and you higher into the air. If landed successfully offstage, this move can be very deadly around 80+%, and if you don’t secure the kill, you can always try for a risky Dair. This move is dangerous to contest and can leave you hurtiling to the blast zone if you try to attack purrloin from above or the side.
This move can only be used twice before landing, but you can’t do it twice in a row. You have to double jump, walljump, or airdodge to refresh uspecial, so be careful how liberally you use those offstage! After the second usage if you whiff, you will be put in pratfall.

Dspecial (Covet): Purrloin’s most DEVIOUS signature move, watch out! Covet has a lot of startup, a lot of endlag, and a small but active hitbox. However, if you happen to try and shake their paw, they will teleport behind you and steal your STOCK (as long as you have more than 1).
Once a stock has been stolen, a 10 second timer will appear under Purrloin indicating who’s stock has been stolen. *If the timer hits 0, the stock will RETURN TO THE OPPONENT who lost it*. Getting hit at all while holding a stock or parrying will also return the stock to the opponent.
If you somehow manage to keep hold of a stock and successfully defeat the opponent, the opponent will then lose both the stock from the defeat AND the stock that was held by Purrloin! If Purrloin lands Covet on an opponent when they are already holding a stock, the timer will simply be reset. Be VERY CAREFUL and watch out for this move! While there are no true combos into it, bad DI can leave you 2 stocks down. Do not let Purrloin grab you, and play carefully around them!

Jab (Fury Swipes): a fast jab that can be used 2-5 times. Canceling into Ftilt or Utilt will net more damage at the risk of being countered. Canceling into Dtilt may get you countered, but if you catch the opponent off guard you can use it to start a jab string again.

Ftilt (Shadow Claw): A fast and powerful swipe that lunges Purrloin forward a bit. Good for popping opponents up to land finishing aerials.

Utilt (Quick Attack): A 2 part multi-hit move with a powerful ending. The first part launches Purrloin and the opponent into the air after multiple hits. Hitting the button again will make Purrloin plummet back down and deal a finishing blow that can kill at high percents.
If you don't go for the second hit, Purrloin will hover in place for a bit before remembering that gravity is a thing. Once this window is over, you can quickly cancel into an aerial, dodge, fastfall, or anything you think may help you in your current predicament

Dtilt (Sand Attack): A weak but frame 2 low poke move that kicks sand in the opponents face, forcing them to turn around and thus lower the chance that they'll hit you.

Fstrong (Assurance): A powerful but short range back hand slap that is doubled in power if the opponent has recently gotten hit by Purrloin or is currently in a disadvantageous state like hitstun. This move is best combo'd into, but can be riskily used to counter recoveries at ledge. A visual and audio cue will tell you when you landed the True Assurance.

Ustrong (Slash(e)): A big tail swipe with a lot of range and power. This move is strongest at it's center sending opponents directly upward, but it's side hitboxes can still be used sending opponents slightly outward to the left or right of the respective Purrloin's possition. Don't underestimate those weaker hitboxes!

Dstrong (Sucker Punch): A tricky but powerful low sweep that has a strong first hit, but an even more devastating back swing right when you thing the move would normally end. Timing this right will net you a big reward, but if an opponent manages to avoid both your swings, you're gonna be in a very awkward position.

Nair (Lash Out): A mid-powered 2 hit move that covers you from the front and back, swiping with your claws from the front and your tail in the back. Your claw hurtboxes are where the real damage are at, but your tail may keep you safe if you miss. Since you can't (and shouldn't) lower opponents stats in Rivals of Aether, this move does not get stronger, but it looks cool.

Fair (Iron Tail): Your new best friend! Iron Tail is a powerful and large flip and tail swing that has 3 hitboxes at the cost of taking a while to come out and end.
-The first will hit the opponent high up with a decent powered hitbox. Mainly good for combo-ing into Uspecial or Uair
-The second is the main killing hitbox, which will launch opponents far horizontally. This is one of your best options for sniping a kill offstage
-The third is a weak spiking hitbox with a nasty diagonal angle. Good for sending opponents back to the ground in a pinch, or using it at ledge to prepare for a Dair

Uair (Hyper Voice): A slow but powerful vertical launching move using Purrloin's wonderful(ly shrill) singing voice. It has a weak initial hitbox, but a powerful secondary htibox that comes out a bit after. Shorthopping or combo-ing out of utilt will usually result in landing the weaker hitboxes, and it's best to time this move a bit later than normal to get that stronger hit in for kills.

Dair (U-Turn): Purrloin pauses in the air before plummeting to the ground. If they hit, they will bounce off the opponent spiking them downwards, while sending Purrloin bouncing back up away from them! As long as you have a double jump or dodge, you can cancel this move a bit late into your descent to save you from your demise, but you'll have to be quick on the draw! Whiffing this move and landing on the ground will result in a lot of landing lag, an unsuccessful retreat.

Bair (Payback): Deals double damage and knockback if you hit an opponent while they're attacking! Otherwise, it's a fast weak hit.

Purrloin's Covet seems to break if they die via the loss of their 2nd to last stock and the Covet'd one causing the match to be stuck

Yes, the small_sprites issue is from the base game itself and is being worked on by the devs. It's not something I can fix at the moment
