Modified M113 APC/IFV

Overview

This Modified M113 is a heavily armoured variant of the traditional M113 APC [en.wikipedia.org]. It features much heavier armament than that of a traditional M113 APC, as well as much thicker armour. Unlike the traditional M113, this variant also boasts multiple segments of slat armour. These add to the overall survivability of the vehicle at the cost of speed.

There are two entrances into the vehicle; the rear loading ramp, as well as the gunner hatch on top of the APC.

Exterior

The front of the APC sports no outstanding features apart from the drivers sight and front piece of slat armour. The bar below the armour is to prevent the armour being removed completely in the event of damage to the connectors holding it in place. This is the same for all but the rear two pieces of slat armour.

The left side of the APC has three features of note; the ladder that allows easy access to the roof of the APC, two pieces of rope and a button that when activated will disconnect the piece of slat armour. To remove it completely, you will have to use the handles affixed to the armour or you will have to drive around slightly.

The rear of the APC is dominated by the rear loading hatch as well as two small pieces of slat armour.

The right side of the APC has two buttons; a button to disconnect the slat armour and a button to open the access hatch for the engine of the vehicle.

The roof of the APC is dominated primarily by the main armament of the vehicle, but there are also two buttons that remove the rear pieces of slat armour.

Interior

The interior of the APC contains 3 infantry seats, a seat for the radioman/commander, a jumpseat and the drivers seat.

Above and around these seats are inventories with a variety of equipment designed for infantry use.

There are also two small ammo drums that serve as additional ammunition for the main armament of the vehicle.

Known Issues

The APC sometimes veers left or right slightly when driving. The cause for this issue is still unknown. If you know a way to fix it, please say so in the comments.
