Alaska Railroad SD70MAC Pack

Popis
(Requires Halton's EMD SD70 Mega Pack).
(These engines are reuploads, as I've taken down my original Alaska Railroad pack. This is due to the GP38-2s being upgraded to use ABStudios' newer model).

This pack includes three EMD SD70MAC locomotives from the Alaska Railroad, specifically 4006 'Spirit of Anchorage', 4012 'Spirit of Healy' and 4014 'Spirit of Fairbanks'. Incidentally the three SD70MACs in this pack all have the same numbers as preserved Union Pacific Big Boy steamers, while 4006 and 4012 share the same numbers as two DC locomotives in New Zealand.

The Alaska Railroad is an isolated Class 2 railway in the US state of Alaska, running from Fairbanks to Seward via Anchorage. There’s also the branch line from Portage to Whittier. Trains first started running in Alaska in 1914.

Today the ARR operates numerous freight and passenger services on their line, and their fleet includes 28 EMD SD70MACs and eight EMD GP38-2s (as well as 15 GP40-2s). Twelve of the SD70MACs have been modified to feature Head-End Power, in order to haul passenger trains.

There are rail-ferries running between Whittier, Alaska and Seattle, Washington. Before April 2021, there was also a Canadian National rail ferry running to Prince Rupert in British Columbia. Interestingly the Alaska Railroad’s track is completely isolated from the rest of the North American rail system, just like the now-closed Black Mesa & Lake Powell Railroad in Arizona.
