Pallas-Class Corvette

A relatively well-protected multirole corvette, the Pallas class features a variety of precision weapons for dealing with a variety of threats. 6 400kW lasers provide precise targeting of enemy modules and limited point-defense capabilities, while a trio of railguns provide long range fire. 7 Twin barrel high velocity autocannon turrets provide a shorter ranged, but very destructive punch for minimal power requirements. The class also features 6 missile launchers equipped with fairly basic flak missiles, and can cycle fast enough to operate both in conventional long range massed strikes, as well as tactical applications in direct combat. Power is split across two independent systems, with a main 27MW fission plant providing power for weapons, and an auxiliary pair of 17kW RTGs ensure backup power for life support and minimal shipboard functions in the event of main power being lost. Drop tanks augment the somewhat limited propellant capacity.
