Description

In this mod, play as the fictional Bern Empire, led by the Dark Priestess Idunn, and liberate the world in the name of Bern!
Note: This mod requires Brave New World to work!

Idunn’s Bern can best be described as a hyper offensive civilization, once whose faith is the fuel to its war machine capabilities. With the right religious beliefs, Idunn’s Bern can support incredibly wide empires and still be able to keep up in terms of Happiness and Culture. Even without a religion at play, your supply of Faith in the Capital will go a long way in shaving off turns from military buildings and units, letting you focus more on building up the domestic side of your empire. If you love the idea of being able to spread your Religion across the world whilst also subjugating it at the same time, then Idunn’s Bern may just be the civilization for you!

UA: The Dark Priestess Wakes
Capturing a city for the first time will convert it to your majority Religion and cause nearby enemy cities to have a portion of their populations converted to your majority Religion. Your Capital's Faith automatically contributes towards Military Building production across the empire and increases Military Production in the Capital.

UU: War Dragon (Standalone Unit)
A powerful, albeit costly unit available at Theology. Obsoletes at Dynamite.
Costs 210 Production on Standard and has 30 Combat Strength. +20% Combat Bonus while Defending. Earns -50% less XP from combat compared to other units. Starts with additional XP based on the local Faith of whatever city it was produced in.

UB: Fell Sanctuary (Temple)
Eliminates Unhappiness from Occupied cities. Cities with this building contribute a portion of their highest yield as Faith in the Capital (this bonus increases if built in a conquered city). Garrisoned units in this city provide +1 Faith, +1 Culture and causes enemy units within two tiles to receive a -10% Combat Strength penalty.
