Alternate Camera Expanded (for stable)

Description
With this mod enabled, you gain full control over your camera. Select from the available presets or create your own custom settings! This version is for the stable build only! If you are on the internal_testing build of the game, click on this link to be taken to an internal_testing version of the mod: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2640776261

With Constance's permission, I've expanded the Alternate Camera mod to include several presets and the ability to create your own custom preset. To access the new features, go into the editor mod in any map and find the mod tab in the top right. Select the Alternate Camera menu and choose a preset or create your own.

UPDATE: You can now play the game in first person! Just pick First Person Mode from the presets. You can also open the menu more quickly by pressing G, and modders now have the powerful ability to change the camera view mid-game by sending level messages to the script.

If you like this mod, you can find the original mod it was created from here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1612679316

Please stop by that mod page and thank Constance for her awesome work!

Also many thanks to Gyrth for helping explain the steps need to create this menu.

Hey, I know I'm quite late to this but I was having the same issue as Spacchineitor but all started working correctly after I validated my game files.

So if anyone else finds themself having this issue then try that.

I've uploaded a possible fix to the resetting camera bug.

I can't tell from your reply if you removed every mod or just the ones you thought were giving problems. It's impossible to know if it's a mod issue until you remove ALL mods. Not just the ones that you think are causing problems, but every single mod aside from Alternate Camera Expanded. You don't have to uninstall them, just disable them for a moment.

What do you mean by 'the settings maybe'? What settings do you see? Is there a dropdown box with a list of Presets?

Do this:
Disable every single mod. All of them. Except for Alternate Camera Expanded.
Go into the level editor.
Press G.
Select the Strategic preset from the dropdown list of presets.
Now press 8 to go into play mode. The camera should be far back from the player.

If you've already done all of these steps exactly and the camera doesn't change, then I'm not sure what is going on. You can try verifying your game files, and clearing the Overgrowth cache in the Documents folder.

I have removed all the mods that were giving problems, the menu is displayed, the settings maybe, but I repeat, everything should work, but it seems that the only thing that does not work is just the view

Does the menu show up? Are you able to tweak settings? There's a video up above that walks through the process. Did you uninstall every mod or just the ones you thought might be the problem?

If you are on the Discord server (https://discord.com/invite/wolfire) shoot me a ping and we can get in a VC and figure this out.

actually, i'm trying really hard to get it to work, but nothing
spacchineitor 12 Nov, 2021 @ 11:03am
then, i apologize if i didn't give you more details, anyway nothing happens, i have removed all the mods that can give problems, but nothing

I'd love to help with that, but 'does not work' doesn't tell me very much. What happens exactly?
Some common problems that might occur:
Make sure that the mod is enabled
Make sure you are using the correct version of the mod (stable or internal_testing)
Make sure you have other aschar mods (such as the flying mod or bloody combat) uninstalled. These mods will clash.
