Forbidden Planet Soundstage

Description
This is an approximation of the soundstages for the 1956 science fiction movie "Forbidden Planet" which is by some considered to be the first pilot or at least a major inspiration for Star Trek. At the time it was MGM Culver Studios and several soundstages were used to film the movie which was shot entirely indoors. One of these particular soundstages (Stage 27) is also where Munchkinland was filmed for "The Wizard of Oz" and some of the materials were re-used for the Forbidden Planet set. Today, this soundstage is Sony Pictures Stage 27, and the adjoining two stages are stages 25 and 26. Modern diagrams of Stages 25, 26, and 27 were used for the buildings and historic MGM art department set diagrams were used to create the residence, garden, ship interior and Krell lab. The C57D set is a guess. I'm not sure if stages 25 and 26 were actually the ones used for those sets, but it makes sense due to their adjacent locations.

Many thanks are due to MorBius, David H., and ColdCanuck60- Sketchup artists whose work contributed to the rendering of Robbie the robot, Dr. Morbius' residential structure and the C57D set respectively.

This still contains inaccuracies and missing items, but it is a start and can give you an impression of what it might have been like to walk through the sets when Forbidden Planet was filmed. Enjoy.

@SiddiusSkarrh40: I sent you a friend request- once we're friends I can share that TWOK environment (lame as it is right now... lol)

Sadly, I'm not experienced in map making and design but I would like to learn so I can make all the maps I want to experience ;) I'll happily look at your build as you go along. Have you seen the refit VR that is kinda a bare shell with the hull..no body and both arms/nacelles? Worth seeing..good experience!

@SiddiusSkarrh40: Hey, thanks- I'm glad you got to see the new sets. I've wanted to walk around the spaceship and the Krell lab for years and am stoked to finally be able to do it. I did take a look at the TWOK ship and it's going to be a bit of work. I actually already started modelling it in VR just to get a sense of how it might go. It looks lousy right now, but I'm glad to share it with you if you want to see it as I slowly tinker with it. Or if you would like to develop it yourself, I'm happy to help along the way.

This is beyond amazing Citizen. I went back and had another look yesterday and found myself spawned by the saucer and was immediately blown away but then I found 2 more sets I've always wanted to see. Absolutely brilliant! I know you're concentrating on this for the foreseeable but have you had a chance to look at the Enterprise refit TWOK? Keep up the amazing creating. I'll learn how to do it myself sometime soon ;)
