Grey Warden Crusader Skin

"There was no Grey Warden skin for the Crusader. I took matters into my own hands."


This mod gives the Crusader an additional skin based on the Grey Wardens from Dragon Age.

This mod also supports Butcher's Circus with its own death sprite - see details below for the compatibility fix if you want this skin to be fully functional in Butcher's Circus.

IMPORTANT: The only reason you'd want to use this fix is because you are bothered by the missing texture of the modded death sprite in the results screen. In order to fix this fully, you will have to replace one of the default skins. If you are not bothered by a single missing texture, and don't want to replace a default skin in Butcher's Circus, you DO NOT need to perform this fix.

The death sprite will appear as normal upon death in the Butcher's Circus. However, it will not appear in the results screen after the match - it will appear as a white box. Here's how to fix it.

You will have to replace one of the default skins (crusader_A / crusader_B / crusader_C / crusader_D) in the game with the contents of this mod. The skin name in this mod is "grey_warden_crusader_A".


1. Rename "grey_warden_crusader_A" to the name of the default skin you want to replace.

"grey_warden_crusader_A" is located in Steam > steamapps > workshop > content > 262060 > 2631773544 > heroes > crusader

2. Copy the death sprite from the "grey_warden_crusader_A" folder to the Butcher's Circus death sprite folder.

The death sprite in this mod is named "crusader.sprite.dead"

The folder that holds the Crusader death sprite in Butcher's Circus is located in Steam > steamapps > common > DarkestDungeon > dlc > 1117860_arena_mp > heroes > crusader > [default skin you want to replace] > anim

3. Rename the default skin you replaced to "grey_warden_crusader_A" - note that this will cause the replaced skin to not work properly in Butcher's Circus (no death sprites will appear), but will work normally everywhere else.

I'd also like to thank these people in particular, all of whom I faced in Butcher's Circus - you're the best at helping me sort out the compatibility fix. Yes, I named myself "Testing mod pls kill crusader" for this sole purpose, and you did not disappoint much to my delight.
