Description
The Tatsuta was a real, pre-dreadnaught "cruiser" built in 1894. She was an "unarmored" cruiser, which more or less means that it lacked true armor on the hull. It's limited armor later meant that it was re-categorized as a gunboat in 1912. For it's time it was quite heavily armed, as it featured two, 120mm main guns, as well as four 47mm naval guns. This version is upped a bit with stronger armor and four 8.8cm guns instead of the 47mm guns, but it's relatively close to the real ship. As with my previous ships from this era, the Tatsuta also served in the Russo-Japanese War, in the Battle of Port Arthur, the Battle of Tsushima, and the Battle of the Yellow Sea.
