Overview

The Schira-DOW 4-N, Is a single-seat heavy fighter based on the Schira-DOW 3rd aircraft from the 1987 Gainax anime film "Royal Space Force: the wings of Honneamise" the aircraft packs a brutal punch with its two heavy, and two light autocannons. Its unique design gives it a striking appearance and makes it a joy to fly at low speeds.

The Schira-Dow legacy

At the dawn of the atom age, the Kingdom of Honneamise's grip on its territories in the grand east river began slipping more into Republic control. Jet technology was rapidly advancing as was the Republic's eagerness to invade and finally take control of the river and cut off supply lines. The Honneamise royal airborne fleet was lacking any sort of hard-hitting, durable fighter to withstand the punches of Republic high-altitude fighters and attack ground targets through the thick foliage of the river marshes, and born from that need was the now legendary Schira-DOW 3rd. A large, wide, canard layout with a hefty pogo landing gear setup and an unconventional engine nacelle design that initially concerned the Honneamise royal airborne due to its use of a traditional diesel engine, instead of the popular jet engines of the age. It initially saw success in small skirmishes throughout its early operational years, but rose to fame from its role during the Republic's siege on the Lyssane launch complex. Honneamise Schira-DOW 3rds earned an overall kill ratio of 6-1 against Republic jet fighters during the battle, more than proving its value as an air superiority powerhouse. As time progressed, variants of the Schira-DOW 3rd saw combat in numerous conflicts and served in the opening months of the Green Sun war. As the war gained motion across the world, multiple Honneamise companies vied to fill the gap that the Schira-DOW 3rd left after its retirement. The Banion-Trinity corporation eventually purchased the designs for the Original Schira-DOW 3rd, seeking to modernize and overhaul it for service in the volatile naval engagements of the Green Sun War. In testing, the Schira-DOW 4-N Astonished Honneamise admirals for its reliability, payload capability and brutal firepower. The Schira 4-N excelled in fleet defense and surface engagements, and has been attributed to one of the primary reasons the Honneamise kingdom won the war.

How to fly

Once in the cockpit, close the canopy (Button to the left, or hotkey 6). On the front left dash panel, turn on the fuel pumps, reach to the throttle lever near your left leg, and crank it to full. Activate the starter for 5+ seconds, and watch the RPS dial closely. When the RPS reaches 20, fully open the collective and let the aircraft roll down the runway. Do not pull-up right away! It needs quite a bit of airspeed to get airborne so let it run for a bit

the large center landing gear gets stuck on the door and pushes the aircraft around with collision issues
