@[LHI] kaladorn haha yep, the price has gotten more and more absurd, on top of how long it takes to replenish stock, and how quickly stock gets sold out. Games Workshop is the easiest to get models from because they control every single aspect of their production line, but most other miniature makers have to rely on 3rd party contracts to get their miniatures made and shipped.

Looks like, depending how much you need the space, how big your arms are (it matters if you put many shelves in like I did), and how dexterous you are. It looks to me you could get at least double the number of shelves, though you might have to leave one for 'extra tall' models.

It's funny - minis are expensive now (white metal, resin or 3d spun out), paint isn't as cheap as it used to be, and shelving can get pricey (then throw in army transporters if you need to be mobile). My collection of 1200-1500 25mm, maybe 100 vehicles (some die cast), and a shelf or two of 6mm stuff plus storage and transport took me about 15 years.

@[LHI] kaladorn I have some custom shelves in there too, along with the ones that come with the IKEA case by default. Originally you only get three glass shelves, which is not enough if you're placing miniatures in there. :( I want to eventually get another glass shelf and re-organize this whole case as it's a bit disorganized, and the shelves are not evenly spread apart.

@PiX.lR yeah Yeah, I have WH40K, and Warmachine in the case too.

Note that is a brad-point drill bit, not a bard-point drill bit. The former makes cylindrical holes without the big conical depression in the bottom, the latter is one that emotes as it drills...

I went for the full height Billy bookcases with the glass doors. Had too many worries about my clumsiness dislodging a glass shelf. The bookcase came with a certain range of areas drilled on both sides, but I figured out the size, got bard-point (not much of a sharp cone at the end of the drilled hole, works great for the little metal pegs) and I ended up with something like 11 or 12 shelves. Mine were mostly 25mm sci fi (Battletroops from original FASA days, lots from Ground Zero Games before they shifted to 25mm, Star Wars from the West End years) and the Icons Gargantuan Red Dragon sat on top breathing fire down at all who looked at it....

In my 25mm sets, I have a lot of powered suits (thing startship troopers animated series) and a fair whack of larger heavy power armour which are about 45-50mm (about 4m in scale) and those are DP-9's earlier Heavy Gears (not the infantry or vehicles, just the Gears because in 25mm, they are right for Heavy Powered Armour).
