Koro and Coyote's Dynamic HRE

Description
This mod and many others will not work on your new version of EU4 because Paradox doesn't give a frak about the modding community

And you know what? Screw this crap. I will not update 10 mods everytime Paradox decides they want to add arbitrary problems. The origin of all this issue is Paradox forcing people to upload their mods to steam or their forums, and therefore prevent pirates from using mods. Then, they force people to release their mods for ONE version. Yes, that is right. If tomorrow they move to 1.9 ver, they will force everyone to update everything again. There is no "1.8 and below" option. So ♥♥♥♥ them. Really. I am so fed up with their ♥♥♥♥.

While I do think it's a very valid idea, I think they crossed the line on this one. So ♥♥♥♥ them.
I will not upate my mods using the Steam interface anymore, but I will post a direct download link anytime Paradox decides to makes us all waste time.

I will not upload them to Steam (it crashes way too often while doing it, it removes the format of the description and sets it to hidden. I wasted like 2 hours doing this, and I will never even try again.

December Update: We moved on to 1.9 and as expected, nothing works again.

TL;DR: I will only use direct download from now on.

PS: I am already banned on the forums for complaining about their pricing policies, so don't care anymore. If this mod gets deleted for whatever reason, feel free to upload it again using these files.

The HRE grows and shrinks over time.

This simple mod adds a few AI decisions that will make them enter or leave the empire depending on the actions of the Emperor. It will also make the AI Emperors to add every single cored province they can to the Empire. Non-christians will remove provinces from the empire very fast, but Christians need to be bullied a little before they decide to leave. Also, nations on the edge of the empire are more likely to leave than the ones in the middle. Borgogne and the Dutch are less likely to remove provinces from the Empire to avoid problems with their scripted events. This will make the Emperor lose power, but he will get a claim on the provinces.

Christian non-members will slowly start adding their provinces if they like the emperor, regardless of the country size. This will NOT add Imperial Influence to avoid human abuse. If you try this mod, let me know if provinces are added or removed too fast. I played only one full game and the AI made Venice, Poland and Serbia Join, but Hungary and the Ottomans removed Serbia and part of Austria later on, so I guess it kind of balances out.

As a small bonus, you have a decision that will let you reset the HRE, making 6 random christian countries start a new HRE. Austria is likely to remain in office tho.

UPDATE!
Paradox doesn't want non-euros in the HRE, but I say ♥♥♥♥ it, right? :D So now you can add provinces to the empire as long as you're christian and have good relations with the Emperor. You can't add all provinces at once because the emperor gets a big mad, but you can join even if you're huge. If you're not the emperor, adding provinces like this will not increase imperial authority. These mechanics are to avoid certain exploits I found earlier in development.

Recommended Mods
The Scrambler by jamaicam: This mod generates random locations for all nations. Using the HRE reset after it makes really fun results. Give it a try!

Compatibility:
Extremely high. Also, all my mods are compatible with each other.

Known Bugs / Exploits:
You can get a few reforms really fast if you force religion on the Orthodox nations. Preventing this would require lowering compatibility of the mod and a lot of work, so please. Don't.

Now that EU4 has come to a close, you could update this Mod without worrying about Paradox cucking it again.

is there any good mods related to making a custom hre out there? having a little trouble, and this is the closest i have gotten to a mod like it. if not, are you working on anything like that?

Well, I am glad to say they proved us wrong. You can launch the game with uncompatible mods since the last patch.

A lot of harm has been done, but who knows. This might revert the situation.

Nor do they care about what people say. Hints of their immense arrogance can be seen when they released all these half-baked patches that broke more than they fixed

For me the breaktrough was on Starcraft. You had everything RPGs, Tower Defense, Tetris, American Football, Survival, Marines, Yugi-Oh and a bazillion of different game types and even 10 years after launch still had new Scenarios popping up every mod, specially korean content.

This cemented the community that later launch Warcraft 3 to the next level, and WOW after that. Paradox was going very well with Vicky, Ck2, but they dropped the ball hard here.

I agree. Warcraft 3 has a still-living universe in the modding community with all these wonderful custom games. One of them (DOTA) even grew into a whole new genre (MOBA)

Well, a year has passed and there's nothing particulary interesting going on in the modding community, and most of my favourite mods are discontinued.

Also, we have older games like Warband: Mount and Sword that have a thriving modding community. Even Civ 5 has a more interesting modding scene right now... It was unnecesary to make that change. It reminds me a bit of WestWood. The original Command & Conquer was a masterpiece, but with a clunky interface. They ignored the fandom and their feedback, but Blizzard did the opposite. Instead of forcing the community down one path, they changed EVERYTHING about the game and made modding not only easier, but a main feature.

20 years later, Blizzard releases blockbuster after blockbuster while a lot of people forgot about WestWood. Paradox is walking the same path and they have a few years to get their shit together before another company fills their niche.

I´m not a modder, but I agree with your opinion. On the other hand, Paradox gives more support than the most of the companies. It´s hard, it´s fact, it is the reality, that it is buisness and you also would programm EU5 and other games, if you would have a company and you have to survive in that hard buisness. But I totally understand your frustration
