Thank you for sharing your perspective! Default settings can definitely catch people off guard sometimes. That's why I added an alert message to help users notice the settings more easily. I’ll keep working to improve the experience for everyone! 😊

@SunGod

It's your own fault for not checking the damn settings. NEVER SETTLE ON DEFAULTS without checking them.

Urgh, so sadly I had to Google around to figure out what the weird new beeping was and discovered it was this mod. I appreciate there's an option to turn it off, but turning it on by default and surprising people with a mysterious new noise isn't the greatest user experience. I personally found it annoying. Anyway, YMMV.

Sorry to have surprised you. However, I personally feel that this sound notification is very convenient and would like to encourage everyone to use it whenever possible, so after much consideration, I decided to turn it on. As for the beep sound, I have already been publishing this sound for several years, so I'm not considering changing it at this time. I have added a sound option in the same update, so please address this issue there.

I think the sound alert default might have gotten turned back on somehow? Fortunately I noticed it while playing with a friend. If he hadn't heard it at a different time while playing I would have assumed it was a computer alert. It has the sharp, urgent quality of a BIOS warning beep. So we were able to figure out it was the game and not some other program or the computer itself.

I'd recommend changing the sound to something a little less urgent and sharp. It's anxiety-inducing. XD

Perhaps something more bell-like. You could even do a rising tone for weight gain and a lowering tone for weight loss, so you know which way it's going.
The new update really scared me. At the first sound signal, I didn't pay attention to it and thought that it was Google playing some kind of ad. When it started sounding more often during the fight with the horde, I decided that my system was finished and started checking the BIOS. Having found nothing, I went to the forums and found nothing. Having decided to continue playing, I noticed that the sound changed volume depending on the camera zooming in and out, and only then did I realize that it was in the game. I went to check for mods updates and finally found the answer.

It's just a design! You can remove the human icon in Mod Options, so if you don't need it, try that.
