--------------------------------------------------
There is a standard for Japanese railway companies to build trains with through service possibility and replaceable parts in mind. Trains in Greater Tokyo Area started to have similar interior designs, door layout and length. Besides of livery differences and internal machinery, they all carry passengers roughly the same. Such as most trains are about 18m or 20m long. It's all thanks to standardization.
Although they use different signal systems or electric equipment, I think most metro and commuter trains in Greater Tokyo Area can be simplified into 3 types by their door layout. They are Tokyo Toei Subway styled, Kantō region major private railway styled and JR East E531/E233 styled respectively.
This mod aims to simplify the process of choosing what train mod to subscribe to. Most commuter/metro trains can be represented by this mod and just imagine all trains from this mod are "a set of different trains with similar loading gauge and door positions". Saves your time from choosing what mod to subscribe to and searching it in-game.
If the train accelerates too fast or the top speed is too high, you can adjust the ratio of powered cars or apply a speed limiter. Don't afraid to poke around in the formation menu to see what you can add or subtract.

@Kip The definition of passenger capacity in Japan is differ from other part of the world. Both New York Subway R160 and Toei 5500 series length around 18 meter, the capacity of R160 is ~246 person per car, and Toei 5500 can only house ~134 person. The official passenger capacity doesn't reflect real capacity.
Therefore, multiply the offical passenger capacity by 2 will be a lot more realistic(you need a little bit force to get on the train, but no need for staffs pushing). In pre covid rush hour, the real number of passenger can be ~2.5 times of the official passenger capacity (This number is what you can see in videos of staffs pushing passengers on board). 60 years ago, it can be 3 times(Windows on train can be broken by crowded passengers with this number).
Passenger density of "multiply by 2" is fairly acceptable for a non-Japanese like me.

Isn't 300 pax per train seems a bit excessive? Is it a "rush hour" capacity?

@NemolaLau: That's great, now we can really build realistic JR/private railway systems.
And about the LE trains: true, unlike the Local/Rapid/Special Rapid trains, the LE trains ALL have different designs, especially at the front. There standalone trains are more suitable.

@GamingWithElso Thank you for using this mod. Although it is a cool idea to standardizes JR limited express trains, I have no plans for making it into the game. Since there aren't one dominant train body design for all limited express trains, not even in the same JR company, I don't think it will be a good idea to choose one train and call it "the standard design of all JR limited express trains".

This is a great mod! I'm using it in my savegame now :) do you think you could make a mod for generic JR limited express-style EMUs as well? That would be awesome :D
NemolaLau  [author] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 2:26am
@sascha.pascal Green car has just been added to the "Jp. Generic Commuter".

Like here the 231 series: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E231_series#E231-1000_series

It has the design Tc-T-M-M-T-Tsd-Tsd-M-M-Tc'-Tc-T-M-M-Tc'.

But your mod has potential :) Although for my personal taste I would even take it and would myself make a personalized script, where I would use the original configurations. I wouldn't upload them without your permission, don't worry

Well, when I look into your mod, I see for example that you are missing the double decker green cars, which many of the commuter trains have, like the Joban Line, the Shinkan-Shinjuku Line or the Tokaido Line.
NemolaLau  [author] 16 Sep, 2021 @ 3:14am
@sascha.pascal Actually the "Jp. Generic Commuter" are capable to operate at 130 km/h already, which is mainly followed the specification of JR E531.
sascha.pascal 15 Sep, 2021 @ 4:20pm
Aren't there some trains that can already go up to 130 kph, like the JR-E435?
