After the Sovereign class and its many refits and offshoots were introduced, the Vizier landed on the drawing table. Taking aspects of the at-the-time prototype of the Odyssey class, the Vizier saw a number of design changes and experimental improvements, including augmented impulse engines, more powerful nacelles, and a heavier armament that departed the Vizier from areas of exploration and put its expertise in the combat sector.
