Better Wife Traits Mod

UPDATE of the original mod made by HoldTheCheese

I've made no changes to the values nor have I tested it with AoC, Radious or any other overhaul or modification. This was made purely as an attempt to get the mod to work on my own end and it does.

All credit goes to @HoldTheCheese. The following notes regarding the mod are copied from the original mod post made by him.


Original Mod Notes:
This mod tweaks the trait system for wives. I was tired of having very little impact from marriages. My solution was to make wives more useful but also not make negative traits too penalizing. After some play testing I think I found a sweet spot. Wives are much more useful and can really define a great general. I included some examples in the main picture for you to see. Please note that ALL wife traits are effected not just the ones in the picture.

*This table effects the wife trait system for both AI and player units.
*This mod does not change, set, or define any other traits that do not belong to wives.

What this mod does;
- Doubles positive traits for wives
- Doubles negative percentages* for wives.
- Does not change negative values for traits.
- Goddess trait has been beefed up quite a bit, because lets be honest; Goddess is a cool personality.

Example for negative; -1 Cunning from base is still -1 Cunning. -20% Illegitimate Child is now -40%.


Compatibility;

- Works great with Age of Charlemagne and other campaigns.
- Save game compatible. (You can use with an existing save as well as remove safely at anytime)
- This does not work with Radious (A Radious version may be added at a later date.)*
- This will work with any mod that does not define the wife traits. I only defined these traits so mods that change general traits will work with this. The only catch like I said is that the mod cannot define the wife traits. Some mods sloppily include these tables even when they are not used.

The bonus in authority etc. doesn't show on husband

could you add more chances of having kids overall? Could be fun specially with the nomadic factions considering how much competition between heirs was in them. That and the diplomatic marriages one could get would be really helpful, like Theoderic The Great did with his, securing alliances with many Germanic Kingdoms.

@grimmco Thanks for looking into it.

It does appear to be working: the tooltip will say "+4 Influence"

However, when you actually end the turn and check the influence available, she will have only gained +2.

@Green Raven It was working fine on my end, and I ran it with a bunch of other mods.


@Furius Thanks for the info but I'm not surprised. 1212 is massive, with the amount of tables they modified there was bound to be a conflict somewhere in there. Prioritizing the mod might make it work but it would probably break some other aspect of 1212. Most likely, it wouldn't work at all. I'm afraid I'm next useless when it comes to figuring that out or modding, for that matter.

I made this mod work for me by simply opening the original version, tweaking a few values I found to bee either OP or not good enough and saving it as a brand new mod. Did that before with a few "out of date" mods, I don't know why but it made them work on my end.

+1 doesn't work with 1212, but would be fantastic if it could be made compatible! ;)
