AwwScrap: I Found Your Crap!

Description
By popular demand, this addon to AwwScrap will allow hand grinders to return some % of components instead of scrap.

AwwScrap (or one of its spin offs) is required for this to do anything!

Rates of Return
  • 80% of scrap is converted to components for a Tier 1 Grinder (Basic)
  • 60% of scrap is converted to components for a Tier 2 Grinder (Enhanced)
  • 40% of scrap is converted to components for a Tier 3 Grinder (Proficient)
  • 20% of scrap is converted to components for a Tier 4 Grinder (Elite)

The above is not a typo! Slower grinders will get you better returns!

Any scrap that doesn't fit in your backpack while grinding will be shunted to a engineer bodybag (the same thing that spawns when you die). It will expire after about 5 minutes, or whenever it's emptied. If there is an existing bag within 5 meters of your engineer, it will be reused. Otherwise, a new one will be spawned at your feet. Take care to empty it before it despawns!

By default, you must be either the person who owns a grid, or in the faction of the person who owns the grid to get any returns.

There is a user configuration file that controls pretty much every setting in this mod! It can be found in the storage folder of your save game.

Notes
This mod will ONLY work on properly defined AwwScrap scrap. If you're running into the generic scrap returns, then you will still only get generic scrap returns.

Hi! Yes, the mods do work: In a world with only these mods it gives the scrap and the % of components. So, in my other world, it must be a conflict with one of the other dozen mods I used. Ouch!

I don't see why it wouldn't still work, but I haven't checked it myself. I just got back from vacation and have to make an update to a few of my mods for small issues, so I'll add this one to the list to check out. Hi Thraxus! Scrap mod is great, but I cant get the % of componentes from this one, and swapping load order didnt solve it. Do you know if it's still working? Cheers!

Hi, how do i turn off the body bag shunting? I would rather have free floating scrap.
Only finding the decay time for the body bag in the UserSettings.cs

Could have done it many ways; the way I choose just made the most sense at the time. However, the decision to exclude ship grinders would have remained. Dealing with ship grinding activities en mass and trying to manipulate ship inventories (while keeping ownership in mind) every game tick is not something that would be performant nor reliable.
