Description
Alderwood Collegiate Institute was a High School located in Etobicoke Ontario, Canada. The school opened in 1955 and was designed by "Gordon S. Adamson and Associates". The school was constructed to address overcrowding at Royal York CI. The school would be expanded in 1960 with an expansion of the classroom wing and Library as well as a new Auditorium. The school would be closed and merged with New Toronto Secondary School to form Lakeshore CI in 1983 due to low enrolment. The Alderwood property would be sold to the Metropolitan Separate School Board (now the Catholic Board) who would use it as a southern campus for Michael Power/St.Joseph High School which was overcrowded at the time. In 1986 the school would be renamed Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School and would utilize the Alderwood site until 2006 when Father John Redmond CSS was moved into a new facility. After that the school would remain empty and abandoned save for the occasional use for filming. The building would be finally torn down in 2014 with the former site being redeveloped into town homes.

The facility includes: 19 Standard Classrooms, 5 Science Labs, 3 Art Classrooms, Double Gymnasium, Cafeteria, Auditorium, and Library.
