How to fix mid-game crashes

The incredibly short and simple guide on how to stop crashing in the mid-game when big armies fight! In my 180 hours of gameplay, I haven't had a single crash after making this small adjustment!

At the main menu, go to options -> video and set the resolution to highest/whatever fits your monitor.


This fixes crashes that would occur when big armies fight in the campaign.
And that is it.
Many of the negative reviews I have seen stem from this one issue. Hopefully this guide will be helpful.

OK. so now I've set my video to its highest possible setting. And now all the game function dialogues are so small I can't read them this makes the game unplayable!

My game crashes on the campaign map screen. Extremely frustrating.

I even cannot start the game-crashes straight away before intro. I adjusted screen resolution 1920x1080 and tried different as well. Can do nothing-game won't start.

Adjust the Resolution by what you have for a current Monitor or TV. For Example I only have a 2K Max Monitor, so maximum is 2560 x 1440. If you have a 4k Monitor then you can set at Maximum Resolution. Try Adjusting it, as at Maximum Resolution My Game shrunk too small.
