Description
British Rail Engineering Limited Class 445 4-PEP (4 Car Prototype Electro Pneumatic) and Class 446 2-PEP (2 Car Prototype Electro Pneumatic). The type was the first of the BREL 1972 EMU design which would form the second generation of Electric Multiple Units in Britain. While it never entered mass production, it can be seen as predecessor for Classes 313, 314, 315, 507 and 508 as well as the never-built 316. The type was used for various passenger trials out of and around London between August 1973 and May 1977 before being withdrawn and put into departmental use. Further tests were carried out until they were retired in the mid 80s and scrapped by 1990.

The Class is capable of 121 kph (75 mph) and was designed to work on urban and suburban services where loading times and standing space were more important than seat comfort. 445/446 was delivered in DC configurations (3rd-rail), a prototype pantograph trailer was later built. This is also included in this mod. Up to 3 units can be paired, each of which has 2-4 (DC) or 3-4 (AC/DC) cars. This gives a capacity of 276 to 1680 PAX (1*2 | 3*4 cars). All cars other than the pantograph one are equipped with a total of 300 kW worth of engines, resulting in 600 - 3600 kW depending on the configuration.

Included liveries:

London & South East Sector "Express Livery"
SELNEC concept art of the Manchester Picc-Vic PEP stock (Class 316)
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport: Carmine and Cream
BR Blue (as the units were delivered)
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport: Orange and Black
Unpainted Aluminium with yellow ends (this was an experimental design one unit received during trials).
